That is a very common story, in fact, mine is almost the same!
Were you on Statutory Sick Pay up until the last day in June?
If you were within the 28 weeks when they sacked you, you have a claim against them.
Apart from that...
You would have been better off just claiming JSA, and you could saved yourself a lot of hassle.0 -
i will do tomorrow, i said in the phone to them i havent received anything she said i just have to go in anfill forms out to appeal0

You still need the cause of sanction in a letter and you should have been sent one so mention that in the appeal! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
as is said as soon as i got the letter from my employer i immediately phoned the JSA claim line as i thought thats the 1st best thing i have to do, i didnt know i could only claim ESA until the lass in the JC told me
i was on stat sick pay thinking about it up until last day of june. ESA started 26 june until 17th july0 -
You can claim JSA even if the you have a fit note. It is up to you whether you think you are fit for work, you don't need a signing off note any more.0
