They slapped you with notified vacancy, which you MUST apply for.
If you allowed the jobcentre to access your account, you need to check it EVERY DAY, in case they slip a notified vacancy on you.
If a whole fortnight has passed since the notified vacancy was issued, I'm afraid you have been caught out.
And yes, this was a trap.0 -
What if they slap a notified vacancy on your profile on your signing day and you can't apply for it because it has expired by the time you get home?
If I have understood the OP correctly this appears to have been what has happened to them.
OP: when you received notification of the sanction was there any opportunity for you to appeal their decision?0 -

If you are claiming housing benefit you will need to contact you landlord and tell them your claim has been closed.
The entire system changed from 1 april, so I have no idea what happens now, but you used to get "hardship payment" and you could claim "nil income" from the council to get the rent and council tax waived, but I don't think you can do that anymore.
I think they offer you a loan or a note for the food bank now.0 -

S/He will have to put that in the appeal, the CAB will sort that.
But the notified vacancy is an old favourite of the jobcentre, I have been caught with it myself, many years ago.
If you go to the job centre and they print a job out for you, YOU MUST APPLY for it (unless there is a cast iron reason not to)
This is why peeps should NOT allow the jobcentre access to their UJM account.0 -
i would post screen grabs but as a new user im not allowed

You should have phoned the jobcentre and told them of your problem.
What I have found is that "doing nothing" is not an option with the DWP, you must constantly be at them, or they will be at you!
In other words, they want you to be pro-active, as in actively seeking employment.
Get the CAB to do the appeal for you, send the evidence, that's all you can do.
I fear you are batting on a sticky wicket, though, they set a trap and you fell into it.0 -
BTW
Continue to sign on at the usual time, while the sanction runs, or you may have problems signing on when the sanction expires!0 -
i will continue to sign, ive got an appointment tomorrow and will show them that what theyve done is wrong and possibly illegal
ive also contacted my council, infact ive just come back from there to fill in a HD form, as they wont let me downgrade to a single bedroom flat, as im behind in some rent, they wont let me move becuase of that, so they are adding £18.65 per week to my ever increasing rent debt0 -

IF they have not done this then they are acting wrongly
You need to appeal and say the job ended on the day you were told to apply for it
If it was an unknown Company there was nothing you could do about that. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
