just been sanctioned, not my fault

hi all, ok here goes
ive just phone dwp to see how much is going into my account on thursday (i signed yesterday Monday 22/04)
to be told ive got a sanction from the 9/4/2013 until 6/7/2013
i asked why
they said because i didnt apply for a job that was advised for me on the 25th of March 2013
ok heres my problem, the 25th of march was my signing day and an advisor linked it onto my universal login, BUT , it also expired the same day!, now when a job expires you CAN NOT click apply
so i was unable to apply for it, NOT my fault
which i explained to my adviser on my next signing day (8/4/2013)
her reply was "oh sorry about that"....thats was it, nothing else, no other questions
ive had NO letters/ NO phone calls about a sanction, apart from what the dwp have just said on the phone a few minutes ago
when i signed yesterday i was there for just a few minutes, no questions about it, just quick in a nd out , no real help from the advisor
ive made an appointment to go in tomorrow and fill in a dr7 and a jsa10, and have no idea how long it will take for the appeal to be sorted
this isnt fair!!!, ive done everything that has been asked to do, ive filled in everything needed to satisfy whats needed to look and apply for jobs in past
ive used this bug ridden universal job search thing which STILL isnt working right
ive contacted my CAB and am waiting for the local CAB to phone me to arrange a meeting with them
anyone have any help here?

Yeah I am sanctioned aswell whilst for a different reason, I am getting seriously worried by some of these threads for my advisor never tells me what jobs to apply for, I'm dreading what they will try and beat me with next
I'm right with you over UJM - I tried telling Jobcentre, sent help messages through it blah blah, as had couple of employers saying they had never received my CV with using the Apply button on that site and they the JC just couldn't care less so I found what has happened to you disgusting
There should have been a letter?? Though I found JC wanted to give decision maker comments over the phone!! while I asked for it in writing
Seriously least you got right forms thats a start - I found CAB did not want to know and all they would do was refer back to the jobcentre,
they didn't know how to get involved, appreciate it is not what you want to hear
if it helps
I have now approached my council for help which is where I wish I had gone to, to begin with as I decided against JSA10 because I'm not deemed in a vulnerable group and having to much frustration appealing the sanction never mind anything else!0 -
the univseral job search site thing they use is a joke, its still got bugs, and things dont get saved properly, how can they sanction me for something i cant do anything about!?!?
surely the adjudication officer person that decided in his stupiditiy to sanction me WITHOUT really checking why and whos fault it was, i bet he just has a list of name to press a the sanction button on and moves on to the next name!!!0 -
I've been trying to apply for roles on the job centre site and I can't seem to get anywhere with it. I go round in circles in gate way passwords then editing profile! Its horrid!0

Maybe the problem was that you left it a fortnight without chasing it. Presumably, by then, applications had closed.
They might be thinking, then, that if you really wanted to apply for this job then you would have got in touch sooner.0 -
I agree the site is horrendous, so much so that I have given in trying to log in each day. I still look each day and note the reference number of any jobs I have applied for. I am very worried that I will get sanctioned for not logging in, as I think I may have ticked the box to say I don't mind the checks being done. Does anyone know how I can remove my permission for them to check up on me electronically?
matskiuk that is terrible what has happen to you.
I have also been sanctioned in the past and tried to speak to the CAB they couldn't help me eitherI suspect they are so inundated with people asking for advise regarding sanctions they are unable to cope with it.
I don't know who to suggest you complain to but someone needs to know how they are treating people even if your appeal is upheld no one will be aware of this situation. I suggest maybe a letter to your MP?0 -

there wasnt any option to get in touch with the company, as i had no idea what the company was, as there isnt an option to click anywhere if its expired!
the application expired same day as the day it was put on, the 25th, so even before i got home after signing i couldnt click on anything0 -
It would not surprise me if they deliberately crashed the website occasionally, in order to fulfil their own sanction figures for the day. It seems each desk at the JC has to have completed a particular number of sanctions a day, regardless of the claimants situations.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

what gets me frustraed aswell is inside the jobcentre, the job point also are bugged and dont show correct info on wages for jobs advertised, they all say "£0 to £0" or similar, how do they expect us to do the right things, when THEY themselves STILL can not get things working!! the universal site has been oniline for ages and STILL not working0

I thought that you were saying that the option for _you_ to apply for it expired on the 25th, but you are saying that was the end date for applications to that job?
And the job only got added to the site that day, too?0 -
I was told that the UJM website was "reactive" so an employer can put a job on and it will appear with in 5 mins, and then when they have got enough applicants they will Remove the job. NO! There are jobs that have been on there for months and months, then there are jobs pased their closing date, jobs I have applied for that I then get a message saying that it no longer exisists. This does not inlcude the Agency / CV warehouse / Monster jobs that are advertised. I have been lucky with my advsiers, but I don't know how long that luck will hold. They will be very disappointed if they looked on my UJM account as I hardly use it. There simply aren't the right jobs on there for me, though plenty in other places. At the end of the day, applying for ajob on UJM takes two clicks, and as I have never heard back from any employers, I have doubts over how effective it is at finding people work.0
