I never exposed anything, I could easily slither out of a swimsuit and into my clothes under a large bath sheet. If no cubicles were available I'd wait until one was if I had to!...

I'd slither arms out.. drag suit off, pants on then top stuff.. usually while grappling a small boy into his clothes (under 3 ;) ) One rather large older lady stopped getting naked after my very vocal almost 3 y/o said 'wow that lady has loooooooooooooong boobies'.. mortifying for me and her.. but they were! lol

The pool here has 2 family changing rooms and lots of small cubicles but at the 1 toddler session there are 2 rude women who leave their belongings in the cubicles while the use the pool .. I said to OH to ignore their stuff and go in anyway, they can use lockers same as everyone else if they don't like it.

Anyway there is nothing you can do to completely cover up when you get out.
To be honest I don't think I should have to get changed or dressed fretting about covering up because school boys are in the female changing room!!!

Of course you shouldn't. If I were you then I would use the family changing room and if anyone says anything tell them your reason.

This brings up an interesting point...

I wonder if the issue was about a father taking his daughter of 8 yrs into a male changing room people would think differently.... Especially if an alternative was readily available..

Also, I wonder whether the boys might be uncomfortable in OP's situation... nobody has suggested this yet..

I've suggested this all along, I think it's inappropriate for the women & the boys.
  • Pigpen - fair enough. Get changed how YOU want to. But, it's a female changing room and it's designated for females to remove their clothing in it, therefore, there will be some nakedness!

You shouldn't, if you are uncomfortable with it you use the provided facilities if the staff don't like it they will have to come up with a solution they cannot stop you from using the family cubilces. Your feelings are as valid as anyone elses.

Well I'll use a cubicle because I don't want to see other ladies in the niff thanks :p ...

Ok.. so I don't go swimming anyway because I wouldn't get in a bath with strangers so why would I get in a large bath aka pool with others people with their unwashed willies and bum clinkers :p... I have a few issues with swimming haha

She still needs to take off her wet costume and get dressed though and using the towel idea seems unnecessarily awkward to me. When I went I always had my costume under my clothes and showered with it on, don't most people?
My entirely illogical 10 year old can do it, I'm sure an adult can manage with a bit of practise. Put your towel round you wrapping it like a boob tube whist you slide your cossie down, then put your knickers on. Put your bra on by turning the clasp bit so it's at the front and slightly on the boob tube bit of the towel, turn the bra round and put your boobies into the cups taking some of the towel with you. When bra in place take the towel away from brast area. You are now dressed in your underwear at least. I'm pretty sure I can dress into a whole outfit without showing my bits. A skirt is easier though, as this can go on after pants and you are only concentrating on keeping the towel from not exposing your top half. Just an idea to consider. I've never been to any swimming pool where the people shower naked in a communal area, but the OP says they do at theirs as that question came up earlier.

Well I can't, I don't bring an enormous towel because it won't fit in my gym bag. My gym bag was a very expensive present from my boyfriend in Mexico & it fits a normal sized swim towel. I'm wearing business type clothes, not loose sloppy tracksuits or pull on stuff.

Yes - the teenage girls block the 2 cubicals with clothing too.
  • Why on earth should she have to get dressed in such a stupid way because of someone else's selfishness and lack of regard for others?

the cheek!! AS if I would wear tracksuits!! What a horrifying thought!!!.. usually jeans actually :p

I'm actually chuckling at the mere idea of my boys sharing a ladies changing room at 6 and 7.. 2 have ASD's and would be very literal and not quiet..

That's very awkward sounding to me and no doubt others. :o I just don't see why someone should have to go to all that trouble when the pool staff are not making people with children use the family area for changing.
