I need to think about meal planning and shopping this week as I'm off into town in a mo to get food for a work demonstration and I can get my own shopping in the same petrol :)

    So we've got
    Pork mince
    Beef mince
    Pork chunks
    Limited cheese
    Chorizo
    Limited pasta/rice
NO FISH - how can that happen?
    Limited veg - some cauli/leeks/beans/onions

I'm being given some lumps of pork this week for a job I did
I need to organise some eggs from chum
Buy a big bag of local tatties

    Meal plan thinking
Out sat night - dd can fend for self - evil mother
Roast pork from special pork with yummy trimmings
Meat balls with herbs (pork mince) - should get two meals from this at least
Thai Soup for tea one night with leftover pork stripped up
Spag bog - these too love it - two meals again from this
    Rissoto with veggies and chorizo?
Sweet and sour pork with veggie rice (leftovers if enough)
    Something fishy.

    We need
    Rissoto rice
    Lentils for soup
    Tatties
    Fish
    lemon grass puree
    veggies
    milk
hazelnut milk for cereals - lovely and low calorie
cheese - feta/cheddar (from local factory offcuts)
    sausages

Shouldn't be too heavy a shop

Ooh, lemon grass puree! Tres chic :)

I was thinking of you on Bonfire Night, Pippi - I went to that village thats close to me, and watched the Bonfire Society parade around the High Street, but I had to stand on the gass to do it - grass had turned to mud, I was four inches deep in it before I realised, and then, well, I just had to carry on, didn't I?:rotfl: Wellies would have been good, of whatever colour

  • Nice planning Mrs Stripes! I was going through our freezers earlier too - there's no getting away from it, I need to take the contents firmly in hand and transfer them to being firmly in stomachs. :o

How dare they mock your posh wellies?! Cheek! :rotfl:

EH - please heat them first :)

I'm in from work - yes I know I'm not working weekends anymore - the past couple to make up for time away.

    The joys of self employment.

    Great leftovers event today.

  • Glad to hear it KC - oh dear where have the last few days gone?

Working today some out/some from home hope to catch up.

Some interesting articles kicking around since the new food waste figures have been released.

  • Hey there lovely

All fine if a bit wet windy and soggy round the edges.

Working late 3/4 nights this week with killer morning meetings inbetween - bleurgh.

On the positive side we're on pot number 3 of soup.

I don't think I've eaten much more than soup this week :)

    Hope you're all good.

Gearing up for European waste reduction week up here - a few things planned to keep us in mischief.

Veggie class tonight with a lovely chap giving a guest lecture :)

    I must check my banks.

  • Ok so you'll all be very pleased to hear that the wages have cleared and we have 'funds'

Not a huge amount but enough.

I must also have to confess I have bought a laptop - my work one is needed for a new colleague and this year might be my final of self-employment (but who really kens?) so I've gone and bought one under the guise 'work expenses'.

In future tax years I may call myself a witterer of nonsense and claim for extra quills too.

Credit card requires attention but as alot of it is work/claimable its hard to figure out right now what's what. I'll save that for a day when the cooker needs cleaned and I'm really looking for something else to do.

However, dear frugaleers, if I am to move to lands far 'sooth' I need to

    Pay cc's
Build up savings of some sort (socks are not savings, although I have many of them)
Recondition Mr RG on the ways of meal planning, he's getting there but a bit good at leading me astray sometimes with talks of 'treats' and alike.
Try NOT to kill my teenage DD before she leaves the homestead for uni - I cannot promise this, I can only try.
Updating my CV would of course help on the job search front.

Mr Rock God leaves on Sunday am - whilst I have some work to do for the land of the wombles, I also need to do things like update my CV and work out how much I SHOULD be paying to the cc.

Ah the joys. For tonight I'll fill in my work diary and get myself one step nearer to the title of Edible Growy person just in time to leave these lands and live in an entirely different climate.

Believe me the Kingdom's climate is entirely different to here, it will be a shock. I hear there are trees and everything.................

I'm regularly trawling Hort sites for jobs - a lovely berry one came up - advising folks here there and everywhere. Lots of travel and soft fruit to eat I think................whilst I don't think its a real possibility (lack of actual experience of a sufficient nature) I may still apply - it will at least get my CV updated.

    Won't that be something.

    :D

Throw your knitted bonnet into the ring Pippi - folks need to know that you will be about and 'may' be available. Even if this opportunity is not for you, the Horti world is close knit....... And you know how folks talk...... You'll be beating off fabulous offers with a big bamboo cane just now and saying things like, 'I don't get out of bed for less than a grand a week and my own designated hook for my trowel.......' :rotfl::rotfl:

I hope your veg talk is super interesting tonight, but I hope DD doesn't have to wait too long for her taxi home either :D You'll miss her when she's at uni........ :D:D

Good to have you back and 'about' :D:D
