Hi Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

Pippi - if all you need is a cheerful face to spur you on, then here - :D <this is mine. But do take time to grab a breather and a cuppa too, don't wear yourself to a frazzle. You've a lot on at the moment, so don't go spreading yourself too thin will you?

    Greying

Thanks for the cheerful face I certainly needed it.

  • Hey Up Stripey One!

Sounds like you have been doing mucho adventurising.

EH has come up with a good solution for 'Use it Up September' eh? Will it help you to have room for any of the 'Wellifest' food items? Or has Wik all that in hand?

Good to have you back anyway - and thank you for popping over to mine :D

I'll just report in over there and may well be back later :D

  • Hail Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

Yes, CGI loses something doesn't it. Mind you, I suspect the early 1970's were a golden era for children's programming. All that 'stop-motion' animation - Magic Roundabout, the Wombles, bagpuss, The Herb Garden, Trumpton, Camberwick Green.........*sigh* :rotfl::rotfl:

I wonder how long each 5 minute programme took to make.

I still love Wallace and Gromit films too :D

Anyway, languishing in 'nostalgia lane' ain't gonna get the plants put in for the night. Oh, speaking of which, I want to pot on the parsley (French) any suggestions on level of 'nutrition' needed to keep it going into autumn and strong enough to bounce back next spring? TIA :D

  • Greying if its new compost then no feed.

If its old (compost), a bit of nitrogen (which can be supplied by organic means) would be lovely a comfrey tea drink would do it.

    How olds the plant?

If its a youngling it wont need much.

If its in its second summer, keep a canny eye, it will go to seed in a heartbeat if its dries out.

    :)

PS I love all that staged animation.

I know I have a problem don't I? Looking at the motley selection of the cupboards I'm doubtful much of it can be welliefested but its a good idea.

    :)

Todays plans - work, work, more work then a walk.

    Pay some bills
    Check bank
Take DD to ferry for open days at uni next week which I can't go to as she's just sprung them on me a day or so ago

Ok so there's banked checked and they're a bit squeaky so today I must....

    Write invoice
Write up timesheet for last month at the learning factory
    Write up and claim expenses
Phone tax credits (again) as nothing sorted out yet.
Make up a meal plan for September
Plan out trips south (yes more, I just love driving up and down Scotland) - this one is for taking DS to his hopefully soon sorted out flat.
    Work lots and hard
Work out what DS needs for his flat once we know he's got it
    Boil and pickle beetroot
    Pickle onions
    Freeze spinach
    Clean the house
Pay a chunk of CC - maybe wait til expenses are in
Pay the rent over weekend once I've juggled the pennies left in the budget.
Raid work for chicklit as I'm on a reading roll at the moment and so buying books isnt' an option
Sort out notes for gardening classes starting last week in Sept.

    Argh.

  • Well

I've done the expenses for one part of my jobs (s)

I've heard my son got his flat - hooray now we fathom what he needs to take from here and how we get it down.

It was a NSD until I accidentally bought a lovely jug/bowl (the old fashioned kind) from work.

Working as a womble has its hazards you know.

Those sorts of accidents do happen, don't they :D

Very exciting that DS has the place - but norty cellist for springing the open days on you, I bet it was your plan to go as well!

Looking at your list from yesterday, Pippi, did you manage to get the beetroots and onions pickled? I don't know how you do it all tho

I did brill reduced rate shopping at my little Morrisons (in spite of their door being jammed open because its been vandalised already :() - 2 x stir fry, 3 x pints of milk, cheesey onion sarnie mix, sarnie quorn, small loaf, a cabbage - all for £1.79!!! V pleased :D

I know you've done something with deeply reduced milk, haven't you - this was 10p a shot, and expiry isn't till tomorrow ... I'll have a look on the forums tho. Don't do too much today!

  • Hi Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

 I had never thought of the work of being a womble as being hazardous ........to the pocket.....:rotfl:

Hope you have a smashing weekend lined up Pippi.

Glad DS has accommodation sorted. It's a relief to know where you'll be based, when you're 'away from home'. Is this still a share with the ladies? And has it got a good size kitchen so that he can carry on with the culinary creating?

Thanks for the advice re Parsley, it's 'new' this summer - it emerged from seed in July :D Excellent tip about avoiding drying out next summer - ta Pippi :T
