Hmm been better (dreaded PMS is actually sending me crazy) but always have time to appreciate some foraging. I hope one day I can be as insightful in the recognition of potential uses for things some may call waste! You're an inspiration xxxx

EDIT: meant to say yes, I do mean the slate :)

Ergh to PMS - I'm sure I may at some point recycle my female innards - they're useless and pesky.

*sends healing and soothing vibes to VL*

Regarding inspiration = you're too kind.

My current 'semi-professional womble' status puts me in the front line of all sorts of crazy items where I have to scratch my head and think - what on earth can we turn that into. I guess my heads thinking OK what on earth do we do with that when something arrives at the Womble HQ Scrap Yard.

And TBH normally its Great Uncle Google who knows the answer :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And, of course - scrimping and saving makes us all inventive genius's these days.

I did enjoy Kirsties free furniture programme last night - the light coffee table from an old washing machine was inspired. As were many of the 'show' homes with beautiful 'upcycled' things in them.

    :T:T

I mean some people see laddered stockings. I see bean ties, I see stretchy rope..........

    double post.

So I'll write you a poem that Mr F loves.

    To market, To market,
    With my brother Jim,
When someone threw a tomato at him!
    Now, tomatoes are soft,
And they don't break your skin,
But this one was specially wrapped in a tin!

  • Good Morning Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

Hope you have a good day at the show Pippi. Hope you get the chance to impress the recycling/grow your own/make do and mend message onto lots of folks.

  • Thanks greying

Slumps in - not sure what overall good we did but it was fun

45 chicken recipes/ideas given from public for our 'rubber chicken' game.

Whistles - wonder were we get these ideas from......

    I'm so tired.

I have to confess whlist I had hm lunch at the shows, I went to the learning factory to water for my guru chap - paid now, obviously

    Then I bought chips.

OK so I could have come home but I'd had a long day and it was gone eight.

And whilst I spent 1.50 - I heard the glorious words I always love to hear. 'They'll just be a couple of minutes'

    Yay

I love straw coloured fresh chips with salt.

    Yum.

Whilst I caved in on the spends its been almost a week of eating out of the cupboards.

Which I am proud of, even if the chips came a calling tonight.

I'll walk a bit more later to work those bad boys off.

Aside that a LSD - just the counterfeit chips.

    :)

  • Good Evening Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

Pips - you've had a full-on day and talking to folk is tiring. I'm sure the chipper police aren't going to be monitoring how many times you are standing in the queue, what you order and how much salt you ask to have shook on......ah well, the amount of salt, maybe, but........Give yourself a break woman! :D

Besides which, I have to say 'thank you' to you. I didn't know there was a DFW 'daily' thread. I knew there was one on OS, but not DFW. What a good thread. And it is right, after a while it does become getting the minutiae right on a daily basis that continues to make the difference.

    Have a good evening,

Wow..absolutely loving the buzz on here with all the weddingy things...sounds lovely and so unique
  • Hi there Taxi - thanks its actually quite fun trying to find things for free or I can barter for. I hope you're well?

Greying I know its just that whole - trying to get through a week not spending :)

But I've declared this weeks total food spend at £1.50
AND - even more exciting - I was given a present of a lovely bag of cheese yesterday - I'm not sure why, but as it was cheese I accepted it graciously. Who refuses cheese?

And I love the small things thread. Its what got me on the straight and narrow to begin with and in the 'body of the kirk' on MSE with some lovely folks.

Todays another full on work day then show set up again for the 'county' wide show.

In most exciting news the return of the guitar god is forecast for this evening - pleasant and friendly seas permitting.

As the sun is shining, I fear no chippy choppy waves will hamper his journey.

    :)

Off to update my list on the daily thread - may double post on here. Most excellent recycling.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Banks done
    CC's done

NO payments to anything yet as I have £15 to my name until work money clears - but that's OK, I don't need anything.

Updated wedding budget on spreadsheet (yes I have a spreadsheet, not romantic but necessary) for core committed spends and with extra in from folks helping with the accommodation costs in the hostel we've booked for the kitchen use. I'm brazenly selling beds in it to helpers for the average cost price, to help reduce our overall cost. No one minds and I'm not rich and only need a kitchen and a band of slaves, so seems fair. 21 beds now filled for two nights, we have ample slaves it would seem.

And I need some budget space for wings and wands (recycled) for the peedie folks coming. Its under 'essential spends'.

    :) - welliefest2013.xls - rocks :)
