:hello::hello::hello:A book is indeed a book so that's very exciting! Do tell all
when you can. Loving your blog at the mo btw.:DI hesitate to say what the book is, in such company as this, but I wouldn't have done it if people hadn't *suggested* I do it, honest
:o:o - its about foraging from trees in suburban England
shoot me now
Garden and house tartage is also very exciting - hope its all coming together.
Its not bad, not bad - the stairs are getting *very* creaky, but I have a cunning plan to take care of that. The plants in the garden are very happy, and I have chilis, but the chilis have greenfly - how did I get greenfly *inside* the house? Doh!The wellie fest - well its going to be a fun DAY but its only a day after all in the grand scheme of things whilst I respect the way others celebrate their union, ours will be frugal as we've a house to buy this year, a holiday to have (very important) and we'd rather spend the core money we have on some nice grub lovingly made with special friends/family than burden ourselves with more debt.want a house with a greenhouse and a garden and chickens - my husband to be has assured me if we keep under budget for the wedding, I may have one, if not all of these lovely things, for being superfrugalstripeywife.
So whilst its in the plan to keep the spends low, I'm finding it quite fun trying to fathom how to do most things for low cost/free.You're an angel for being so lovely and popping by on my squinty path - thank you x

:AThanks for asking - happy to help!
Think of your pot like a hole.:T
Its done the work for you.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So you need to buy a pot 2.5 times the size of the pot they're currently in.
Ie if they're in a 1ltr pot (it will say it on the bottom) then buy a pot at least 2.5 ltrs. But unless you're familiar with pot sizes look for diameters.....see below. Its often easier to understand.
Or look for nice cheerful pots/buckets/etc and plant them in that. If its a container of sufficient size they'll be happy.
A decent fruit bush will be happy in a pot recommended as follows by those clever chaps at the RHS.....
As far as the type of container, clay pots are heavy and stable; plastic is durable, light and easier to manage. For most fruit, choose pots 45-50cm (18-20in) in diameter.
Fruit trees, vines and bushes can be planted in containers at any time of year. However, spring (March or April) is a particularly good time, as the roots soon grow and establish into the new compost.
When planting, place plenty of crocks (small pieces of broken clay pots) in the bottom of the clay containers to retain potting media during watering. Use a good-quality compost (John Innes No 3 is ideal), or multi-purpose compost mixed with one-third by volume grit or perlite. Incorporate controlled-release fertiliser pellets, or feed fortnightly with a high-potassium liquid tomato feed.
