Nooo, don't do that! You never know, you might have fun! And, if it does go pearshaped, well, these things happen. It won't be the end of the world. ;)

Have a wee look at Kate Sutton's blog - Wit Wit Woo. Her dating stories are hilarious. All true as well.

TWM, big hugs and greetings from Crete (think we done this last year too!).
You have enough money for you but not for DD, so get your CSA claim in please.
Great news about date, about time you got yourself back "out there." So it might not be perfect but it will be another hurdle you have got over. Glad to see you are starting to have a social life again.

    Agree with this ^

Just go thinking it's one evening and enjoy yourself. If you like each other and it goes further, that's a bonus.

If you have a string of dates with different people, that's fine. You need practice now to find out what kind of person you want to spent time with - keep things light and enjoy yourself.

Yeah, don't think of it as a date, just think of it as making new friends. Loads of my mates have found love on dating sites, but they had to kiss a few frogs to get there - treat it like a shopping expedition!

It sounds as though emotionally you've turned a bit of a corner, which is great news. The longer you're away from him, the less brain power you'll waste on him! xx

How was your girly night on Saturday, TWM?

I agree with the others about the date tomorrow. Go and enjoy it, it'll be nice to get out of the house and dressed up for the night.

Which brings me to the important question: what are you going to wear??? :D

Yes TWM go out tomorrow-it will be scary coz you've been off the dating scene for a while. I was the same after I left my ex (a long time ago now). I had quite a lot of dates-so,e were fun some were dire, it was all a learning curve though and each experience went towards making me the person I am today-and I quite like the person I am today.
Whereas when I left my ex I was at Rock bottom and had very low self worth :(.
I am now very happily married to a wonderful guy-after kissing a few frogs! :rotfl:
So please go out tomorrow and just enjoy. You won't be going as someone's wife, or your little girls mum, you'll just be TWM. Have fun Hun. :D

Well, two hours time and I will be going on my first date in 23 years! Its only a coffee sdo I dont know why I'm so scared. Still, it will be a bit of a milestone for me, even if we don't get on.

Im just wearing my normal work clothes in case he doesn't turn up. Plus I dont want to alert everyone here at work (except my two closest friends here who know all about it) to what is going on.

My girly night out went well, agian its about 10 years since I have been for a drink in the city centre ...I just stopped going out when I had DD. I didnt get drunk or puke up and I was back home by 10pm...we had started our "pub crawl" at 4pm so thats fairly respectable I think. Maintained my dignity anyway!!

    Fingers crossed for lunchtime!
