I think you said her last monthly spend just on food and petrol was over £1000 -I think a lot of people would regard that kind of spending (not including rent/mortgage or utilities) as extravagant.

Yeah it was actually on everything not just food and fuel but excluding direct debit utilities etc so yeah a bit around 400 on supermarket food and household. Not that I'm defending it!Regards

Look your getting divorced if you didn't have kids its highly unlikely that you would be supporting this woman
She need to get it into her head your not her personal cash point card
You need to get into your head that your soon to be no longer her husband and therefore no longer need to support her
its hard your used to her saying jump and you say how high You shouldn't be paying her bills ( but i apologies if you not ) it 15 percent for child support and thats it
Start thinking for yourself and taking the advice from her and if you cant get a good divorce lawyer then get a good !!!!ing girlfriend because as your girlfriend ( I'm not btw) but no way would i see you being !!!!ed over the way your are at the moment. If i were your lawyer or girlfriend your ex wife would get child maintenance and that would be it and i would post her the address to the job center and the forms for income support so that she knows exactly where to go to sign on :rotfl:
Your kids are almost adults not little babes if they were small kids then i agree do as much as possible but they aren't and life is hard and sadly the bank of dad is now shut to any more overdrafts
Your wife's lifestyle is her problems not yours Ex means Ex i.e. no longer part of your life
If you didn't have kids this wouldn't be a issue and as your kids are virtually adults it wont be for much longer0 -

Yes you're correct but the law doesn't see it like that, the law works on being reasonable. If I just gave 15% it would be considered not reasonable, this is the advice I've had from my new lawyer who has significant experience in these type of cases. Ultimately we want to reach a financial settlement with divorce that means the maintenance has an end date in the short term.Regards
