I think the point is that in this instance the OP's wife having not worked since the children were born and the couple having a high earning lifestyle - the wife will be able to claim some form of maintainance for herself too.
So it isn't "the usual deal"I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I know; I was the first to point that out on page 1.
However most spousal maintenance deals that have been reported on here provided for the mother of younger children, sometimes until they were in secondary school, sometimes for a limited number of years (3 maximum) so she could re-train and get back into work.
And the preference seems to be to organise a clean break with the wife taking extra capital in exchange for relinqishing spousal maintenance. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
what's PWC?
She has worked since children, e.g. courier work and Teaching Assistant but stopped around 4 years ago. Since that time has done voluntary work at the school and at an animal sanctuary but stopped all that this year.Regards

Oh and don't forget we're just talking at the moment about for this period before divorce and settlement agreed.Regards

PWC - parent with care, with whom the children live (technically the person claiming Child Benefit which the CSA seem to use as a proxy for having residency rights). If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Think PWC is parent with care of the children.0

Not being funny, but how many driving lessons has your daughter had? Did she really start learning to drive 2 years ago? Seems she may not be cut out for driving and you can stop paying for her lessons! However, if she ever does pass her test, will you be expected to buy her a car too?Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

Think it was last year she's been learning for about a year, had first test end of May failed with 1 major next test mid July. No, no car plans not with what I'll be left with.Regards

Yes speaking around there's a lot guys where I work that are paying a large allowance to the ex even though kids have left home etc. It seems there's some sort of formula that means she's sitting comfortable without having to work. It's related to basically ensuring she doesn't have to experience a significant change in lifestyle is how the guys here see it?
So it'll be CSA calc plus an ureasonable amount so she doesn't have to work.Regards

Do you want to check whether thay all went through a particular court?
Something another poster linked to suggested that particular courts are more liable to order spousal maintenance and that the courts took the view that if the payer's situation changed, it was their respnsibility to seek a variation? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
