Impossible I'd have thought with a greedy %$^&* like her!!

My offer of finding you a hit man still stands Jack, and way cheaper than a barrister ;):D

Totally unfair and out of order. You only have one side of the story and as we all know, there are 2 sides to every story....

Is there any chance you could sit down with your wife, just the two of you on neutral territory, and come to an agreement between you? This is what the person I know had to do in the end as neither could afford the final judge's decision hearing.

I had suggested that before the trial as one of the advisers on wikivorce offered free of charge to talk to us both in conference call and give us an indication of likely outcome as we were both not going to get what we wanted but she refused.

Will there be something built into the plan in case you stop earning enough to pay her SM - if you left work, got sick, etc?

Just a thought Jack. When they discuss your soon to be ex- wifes' earning potential do they consider her eventual inheritance from her well off parents in the mix at all?

No although it's a foreseen event eventually there's no time frame or exact certainty. For example her parents could sell up and blow the lot at the casino. However if she did come into some money during the period of the settlement it would be a trigger event that would change the agreement. However I'm sure they would find some way of covering it up...

    Damn
I'd stop paying anything over and above CSA to her - and if the car lease happens to be running out I wouldn't be renewing it until after settlement (do they do Micras ? I imagine she has something above 850 cc at the moment ;) )

But more reasonably you are on the home stretch now, Can you apply for the next court date now rather than wait the two weeks ?

Thanks duchy sorry to take so long to reply. I've been paying Csa since October at £650/m that will stop in June as will her child tax credits etc
It's a smallish car but has a good economic diesel engine giving 60mpg the scheme normally requires it to be changed to a new one every 11 months but it's due soon. I need to look up what it would cost to lease a simar car to the general public as this is a new £15k car inclusive of insurance road tax, breakdown cover, servicing, 18000 miles a year allowance. Only need to pay for fuel, the cost to me in £185/m but I suspect it would cost more if not in my employee scheme. I mentioned to barrister that it has a greater value to her than £185 but he thought judge would only consider it's cost to me...

Jack - please now take notice, at long last, of mgdavid:
'Tip - please believe me, put the initial offer in writing, it is very generous.'
    -and the rest of #2563

That 1st offer was already massively generous. Was RT there? Did you feel confidence in him? How did you read him?

Would he be present if it goes before a Judge, or would Andrew be back? Would you?

Sorry for more ?s, but we are all aware that even beyond this farce, you have eviction/Landlord mess and a case of professional negligence against your past and present legal advisors to pursue.

Your dossier of calamities will make that easy enough.

Thanks ampersand sorry for delay in reply.

Yes it was with RT he had similar views to me and thought her barrister and judge waffled on a bit. He summarised my case well when asked to by the judge pointing out that ex had not taken the opportunity to register with agencies to get some experience etc

I don't know at this stage who would present me if it goes to final hearing?

I wouldn't get it replaced - use it as a lever to get her to settle.

The current one taken back - new scheme to start once you know if car is included in settlement or not.

At this point I think I'd withdraw from the solicitors - you have all the paperwork - and simply engage a barrister for the hearing .
