Another one here who feels you didn't really have much of an option!

I think you have made the right decision Jack.

Thank you very mutch your words and many others support on here are of great comfort as I often wonder if I'm being reasonable, based on the feedback I get from ex etc.

Oh jackRS we all know, even your ex knows that she is never ever going to go hungry is she?

Hi Jack, I'm going to be busy with hospital appointments and treatment over the next few weeks, so I want to let you know that although I might not post, I am here, reading your posts, cheering you on from the sidelines.

I hope you can get a court date soon (and preferably without the extra fees!).

    All the best. :)

I'm another one who thinks you've made a good call regarding court.

What continues to irritate me also is that still she hasn't applied for any jobs anywhere which would give more accurate figures as to what she could be paid instead she (& her solicitor) continue to pluck low figures out of the sky which as has been pointed out are total underestimations of what she would get. People apply for jobs in an area they are looking to move to every single day!

    Hi Jack,

I haven't posted on here before, but had to say that you have tried everything and your ex isn't being reasonable and I think gives women a bad image.
I don't think she seems capable of compromise and unless you get to court it will never be resolved.

I really hope you get this sorted out soon so you can move on and start making plans and not tying up loose ends.

Jack, just wishing you good luck with the court date and hope that you have a fantastic, rottweiler barrister. I can't believe your ex's deluded attitude. Fingers crossed that she gets a swift kick in her over-indulged pants.:o

Don't let the ex wife to come back and suggest another offer once she hears of the decision of Court. You have been going around and around and around accumulating more expense for nil result. Very tempting to listen to the latest offer etc but at the end of the day it is not going to be resolved. Going to Court is not a failure especially when all the attempts you have made.

Sometimes it is best just to let the Court sort it out, then you can finally have the clean break.

Don't stress about the kids, truth always outs in the end and they will want a relationship with you.
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Jack, if you had doubts, even your solicitor's response now seems to be onside with your decision - a pity she couldn't have demonstrated a bit more of this earlier.

A client instructs a solicitor to pursue and represent - his or her or their - interests and just cause, informed by that solicitor's supposedly superior and specialised knowledge. We haven't seen a lot of that so far.

Can you clarify this for me please? -
' will not be any better than the compromise proposal I have made which on further reflection I am not prepared to offer.

    Do you mean, '
' will not be any better than my latest compromise proposal, made [date, for avoidance of doubt and wriggle room] which, following successive, substantial and unappreciated concessions by me,[STRIKE] on further reflection[/STRIKE], I am [STRIKE]not[/STRIKE] no longer prepared to offer.

'You've played ex's game to the end of the line and she's been pulling your strings. No more shilly-shallying.

You will sleep better, in so far as you can until this nightmare ceases, because you will have an endpoint. With that glove-fit barrister - ABSOLUTELY KEY, JACK - your whole focus and energy is directed to that target.

When I read this 'I often wonder if I'm being reasonable, based on the feedback I get from ex etc' , I'm going to be harsh, Jack.

What do you expect any in-clover dealer[ex] of life-wrecking fixes to say to a tame punter ?

Gigervamp's current battles are for real. Your ex's are not. On the scale of shame, she is off the register.
