I don't understand, is "husbeast" an affectionate term or is it due to what he's done?

The OP explains it in an earlier post.

Also - Bazey - that comment about Midge Ure really made me chuckle :)

OK, apologies for the premenstrual bit.

    Just lunatics then.

Well there's certainly one lunatic involved in the discussion!

I don't think you need to be a genius to figure out many people (men or women) would be unhappy about the situation described by the OP or by the thought of their partner attending strip clubs etc.

To add to that as a man I can safely say that not all men consider the likes of strip clubs as harmless fun. Sad and depressing for all involved would be my description of the likes of that.

I agree with this. Harmless fun should not involve women doing work that degrades them. Some may argue that they have a choice over whether to work in these places or not. However many are vulnerable members of society, who feel they have little other option to be able to support themselves. The people who run these strip clubs are aware of this and abuse, exploit and take advantage of them.

    Sad but still true.

There is also, however, a large band of females selling their `wares` over the internet for very inflated prices, I don't think they feel exploited, I think they're the ones doing the exploiting.

I know someone who actually loves such work. She said it makes her feel sexy and beautiful which men in real life don't do for her. She doesn't feel degraded or abused she feels special and important.

They don't all fit the stereotype.

    http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/cretin

    'Origin:

late 18th century: from French cr!tin, from Swiss French crestin 'Christian' (from Latin Christianus), here used to mean 'human being', apparently as a reminder that, though deformed, cretins were human and not beasts'

So actually, to call someone a cretin is to call them human.

I disagree. I guess it depends on how much a woman values her self worth. No amount of money could ever make me do anything like that.
