My husbeast is a cretin

It wouldn't really be harmless to me as I have very little self-esteem and my OH visiting strip clubs would make me think it was because I was unattractive...
...but at the same time I do understand these things happen - stag nights etc.
If I ever had a hen do, I wouldn't want a stripper...because he wouldn't look as good naked in my eyes as OH does

2 completly separate meanings it seems.
OP: what was the content/context of the photo he posted on?
Was it sleazy? or was she riding a bike or something (that he might have a legitimate reason to comment on - albeit massively insenstively?)
Wearing a maxi dress and leaning against a wall smiling. Hardly page 3 material...
If she'd been stretched out half naked on a decent bike he'd be more likely to notice the bikeIf you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...0 -

They're not completely separate though, are they? The offensive definition corresponds to the clinical symptoms of congenital hypothyroidism and is clearly marked "offensive" further down the page you link to."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. To his credit he's just called to apologise. Apparently our relationship is so amazing it should be obvious that he doesn't mean anything by comments like this.
Still got a flea in the ear though and I have made it very clear that I consider that to be absolutely no excuse for posting something that crass and thoughtless.
I don't for one minute think he'd actually cheat on me but if I'm going to put my body through hell bearing his child and then spend the next year spending nothing on my hair, clothes or my own hobbies to make our finances stretch then he had better make damned sure that being kind to me comes further up his list of priorities than flirting with some costumed twit on Facebook
He can just thank his lucky stars I don't have a 6'5" box lying around...

Make a friend feel better about herself?

Really? I would view it as fishing..seeing what response you might get....well that's how I have seen my OHs similar behaviour.
But he gave the same reason as you.
He just did it. Didn't think. Hmmmm not sure I buy that...:rotfl:Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0 -
paulfoel, I'm honestly not sure why you're trying to make this out as a gender issue, as I dont think it is one.
I know lots of my male friends would be upset to see their wife posting on a photo of a man that 'I have a new favourite photo of you, you're lucky I'm not on the same continent as you'. Don't you think?
As for, he's a bloke and we do stupid things sometimes. No. Not a valid reason. Some women behave like that all the time, and some men, don't, ever. Thats as stupid as saying 'how am I supposed to know you're supposed to put oil in the car, I'm a girl'.
Yes we all have thoughts and feelings about other people, but its what you do about them that counts.
I find it suspicious you are explaining this man's motives that you don't know...you're not the OP's husband are you?!0 -
I'm assuming he's now removed the comment? I wouldn't want my friends and family to read that!0

I don't think the OP over-reacted, her husband can clearly be a muppet, but by god I wonder what planet some of the replies on here have come from!0
