  • Good morning, all is quiet in the PWPS household, children are still asleep and DH is at work, so I'm enjoying a mooch and a quiet cup of tea.

Not sure what is happening today, think it will just be a lazy day at home, will go out for a walk with the dogs later, but it will be a NSD:D.

Mountain of washing to sort through today and Ironing to be done, children need to tidy their bedrooms and find homes for their new Christmas items.

Food today is more leftovers, we seem to have loads of cheese, milk and carrots, so porridge for brekkie, cheese and crackers for lunch and homemade carrot and coriander soup and a homemade rice pud at teatime.

Must do January budget as some point today and work out whats coming in/out.

    Take care PWPS.x
  • Kids, why oh why are they never happy, DS is bored (you have a bedroom full of new toys for goodness sake) and DD has a strop on because we are having HM soup for tea and not a Roast dinner, going to have a glass of wine and bath in peace before I explode.
  • Good morning.

Not really much to update, doing a lot of thinking at the minute of ways to cut back, I always feel that things go a bit haywire around Christmas, I'm not as frugal and the little things I would normally do to save money seem to get forgotten, so need to get back to it and get my MSE head on.

Today should be a NSD, I don't really need anything and we have plenty in to make a meal, do need to go and have a route around the freezer and see what is in there and make a meal plan for the week.
I also need to check through the boxes of toiletry sets that myself and DH got for Christmas and see if I need to buy any this month, I have a feeling the only thing we will need is toothpaste, as I'm sure we got loads of shower gel and deodorant.

As I know we have no guests today I have turned off the CH and just keeping warm with the wodburner, I dread to think how much oil we have used in the past week with having family staying or friends dropping by, don't get me wrong I love having people over it just costs me money :rotfl:.

Meals for today are breakfast - cereal or toast, Lunch - HM soup and Christmas cake/mince pies for pud, Tea - something with chips and veg, I think there may be some fish portions in the freezer, pud fruit and yoghurt.

Weather here is wet, miserable and depressing, I'm so tired of it. I don't mind cold weather if it is bright and sunny but these long dark days just make me feel do down, one day I will have enough money to take a holiday in the sun every Winter, well that's the dream anyway :D.

Hope everyone reading is well, take care PWPS.x.
  • Get yourself over to Morecambe Penny, it's always sunny here ;)
I charged up on the sunshine with a walk on the fells yesterday, I had to be persuaded to go but felt much better for it. It's miserable today though, everyone out and about looks miserable too, roll on summer x
Good for you booking the holiday, we all need something to look forward to x
