  • ah Penny I could write a book on crying over family...I am trying to put into practice the fact I have my own family and that is of prime importance. So delighted to hear that your son passed his 11 +. Marvellous.

Try and ignore those who are making you sad but it is so difficult I know too well. Take care of yourself and your little family. God bless.

Sorry to hear about your family issues, but huge congratulations to your DS, that's a great achievement!

  • Thankyou everyone for your kind words it really means so much, the support that i have received from you all is fantastic and has really made me feel so much better about what is going on.

I have unplugged the phone at home, anyone who needs to contact and who I want to contact me will do so on my mobile and I'm not answering it if I don't recognise the number of it's been withheld.

DD has made bolognaise at school today so we are having that for tea with pasta, after tea I'm going through the cupboards/ freezer and going to make a meal plan, I hope to keep food budget around £35 this week, I'm trying to do as much as possible to cut back and save money.

Woodburner has been lit most evenings this week and I've been putting clothes on the airer at night and putting it in the same room, close by but not close enough that it's dangerous, it's working well and I'm not using the tumble dryer.

Better go and dish up tea and will update later how I get on with the meal plan.

  • Hi Debtfree, I remember my nan in winter putting my pj's on the airer in front of the coal fire, we would have a bath and get dry downstairs in front of the fire and then put on snuggly pj's.

Did meal plansl/shopping list based around what we had in, went shopping this morning spent £1.86 in sainsbugs did use £2.50 of nectar points and spent £36.01 in aldi could of been less but a couple of treats jumped in the trolly, so I could have got it in budget if I had been good, but less than £40 for a weeks shop is pretty good.

Have spent the rest of the day, cooking I have made chilli, cottage pie, apple crumble and fairy cakes, may make some scones as well.

Redeemed a £10 voucher from val 0pinions, hope fully I will get that sometime next week and can use it against shopping budget.

DD is fed up of not being able to do much, she has another 2 weeks until she is back to the hospital, she is a very independent child and is not liking having to ask for help.

Hope everyone is ok and having a good weekend.

  • Hi Debtfree, the weekend did feel quite productive, but because I spent the weekend at home and not rushing around, it also felt quite chilled as I could do things at my own pace.
  • Good evening all and I'm feeling quite upbeat considering it is almost the end of half term, I'm usually dragging myself around at this point.

Went to Mr T this morning and go at pack of free sausages that I had a Voucher for, also bought coffee for work but got the money back, will use the free sausages later in the week will either make stovies or toad in the hole, nice cheap meal.

Work has been pretty good today and seem to have got over the blip from a few weeks ago, amazing what can happen when you keep your head down and refuse to do all the extra you usually do, suddenly everything you do is noticed, I have been offered more hours will mean juggling a bit with childcare for DS but should be ok, may need to put him in school club a couple of days, but as they only charge £2.50 it's ot going to break the bank and I can more than cover this with what I will be earning.

Bank accounts looking lean but should be ok until the end of the month, but sadly not extra overpayments to CC, unless I manage to redeem on some survey sites.

    Hope everyone is ok.x.
  • Lovely to see you more upbeat :) and good luck with the extra shifts at work.

I have a sign that says 'No-one knows what it is that I do, until I stop doing it' and it is so true. A lot of work goes into making a household alone, let alone work, running kids around and everything else you do.

    You're fab! Don't forget it!

  • Thanks for popping by lilt.x.

Checked banking and things are squeeky tight, I have booked DS into breakky club starting after half term, but I had to pay a month i advance so deceided to pay the whole half term which was £40, so the good thing is that it's paid and done and I won't have a bill before xmas, on the bad side it was next weeks grocery money, so I currently have £8 left , I am waiting on £15 in sainsbury vouchers, finges crossed they hurry up and arrive in the next few days.

Also spent £10 on fuel today, so that should or will have to last me until payday and also spent £5.10 in Mr T on some top up groceries, bread, butter, potatoes and plain flour.

Next week is going to be a super scrimpy week, looking forward to being off all week and spending time with the kids.

Hope evryone is ok, take care.x.
