  • Thankyou sweetpea and Brizzled for your kind words, your support means a lot.

Have been very good and managed a NSD today, DS wanted to go into town to spend some of his money on a new football computer game that was released yesterday and DD wanted to meet up with a friend in town for an hour and go shopping was very good and parked just out of town and walked in so didn't have to pay parking, it is only a ten minute minute walk and such a lovely day it was quite nice to stroll in chatting to the children, DD took her own money and went off to new l00k with her friend I was very impressed with what she came home with, 2 winter jumpers and 3 pairs of character socks that were in the sale and she nipped to h0me bargains to get herself some face wipes and shower gel she wanted, she is becoming quite sensible with money and thinking about things she need and not just buying things for the sake of it, she also went into claires and had a browse but said there was nothing she needed, giving her an allowance seems to be working.

Easy comfort tea tonight of fish fingers chips and peas with a bottle of french beer.

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the weekend.x.
  • Good Morning Penny :)

Nice to see you're not going to let them get the better of you. It pays the bills - my mantra. We have ups and downs and they are sent to try us, some more than others - and when you feel like it, just look forward to the day when you can say your piece!!!

Well done on keeping in with the surveys.

What's in store this week for you then?

  • Hi PWPS!

So sorry to read that you have been having a bad time at work. My mantra too is 'Work to live, not live to work' - I used to be 100% into working, and giving extra time, working through lunches. No more. They do nothing for me, other than pay me for what I do. So I go, I work well, I come home and forget it. Sometimes not that simple though. Hugs!!

DD sounds like she is very smart with her money! You should be proud as you're obviously teaching her well!

    Take care of you x

  • Thankyou ladies for your kind comments, work has been ok, I'm keeping my head down and just doing what I have to do and then coming home again.

Having problems with extended family, I had a phone call from a relative over the weekend to tell me that she was getting marries, told then congratulations etc, they gave me the date which is not until wel into next year, I was hoping it was going to clash with another wedding i'm going to next year but sadly not, I then got a phone call yesterday from another family member asking me if I had heard about the wedding I told her bride to be had phoned me to let me know, I was then told that I had better not start trouble on the day and cause a scene as the family member I stay away from and do not speak to will be there. I couldn't believe that they had rang me to have a go at me and also that they think I would ever cause a scene at someones wedding and spoil their special day, I again spent most of yesterday in tears, I try so had to stay away from my family and not have anyhting t do with them and keep the children far away from them as I do not want their nastiness rubbing off on them, I really do not know how much more I can take from them, I ask nothing of them and never ask for any kind of help and all they do is bring me grief, I only ever hear from them when they want something or want to cause trouble. I have told DH we are not going to the wedding, I can not spend the day on a knife edge waiting for the snide comments, they are nasty and jealous and can never be happy for anyone that is happy, they will pull down anyone and everyone because they have such miserible sad lives.

Sorry for the rant I needed to unload that.

OK back to money, £7 has been paid off Mr T CC, I have redeemed £4 from p1nec0ne and another £3 from my surv3y.

Better go and get the kids into bed and then wash the dishes.

    Take care.x.
  • Hey you

That sounds utterly awful. Keep your chin up and remember that you are way better than them. And also that you do not need an excuse in order to not go to a wedding. They are money pits and the only reason anyone seems to get married these last couple of years is for the gifts. My best friend had a row with her husband to be because she wasn't allowed to put a handbag from John Lewis on the gift list.

Yay for your CC payments :D keep focusing on you and your little family. If I could cut off half of mine I would. There are a couple of bro/sis I actually have completely cut off. They too only appear when they want something or want to cause trouble. Families eh? Who'd have them?

Lots of hugs to you. :) xx

  • Hey pwps rant away...anytime.

What a horrible phone call. I really feel for you. How dare they call you and try and dictate to you.

Please try not to let them get you down. You've got lovely kids, a great OH and are a fantastic woman.

P.s. Well done on the surveys.:)

  • Oh i'm sorry i've only just got over here to offer support. I hope things look up for you soon. I don't think any job is worth stress, upset and drama. I am only volunteering at the moment but do one day in the office now and I was on my first day drawn into a !!!!!ing session about one of the colleagues. It was the manager of the office who started it too  I was utterly gobsmacked! I chose to be diplomatic and avoided saying what she wanted me to say (have been drawn into similar things far too often and to please have said things i didn't mean) so I just told her I don't like to b1tch about people when they're not there. Especially when I only knew her on a professional level. Haha you should have seen the manager's face. But as I said before I don't think it's worth the stress or drama and I do my job and go home. After saying what I thought she now seems to know i'm not going to be drawn into anything and it has been much easier :T I'm not quite sure what happened to you, but keep your head up, work is work. It's not your entire life (i know some people make work their entire life but that's up to them...) and you seem like a lovely person so I hope you're feeling brighter soon xxx

  • I agree with all of the above hun - keep your chin up and look forward to going home each day. Your immediate family and health equal happiness and if work is good then great, otherwise it can stay right where it belongs, at work. You've got your debt clearing to remind you why you have to work for now (then another dream when you're DF!) so keep smiling and don't let the other family beepers grind you down. xxx
