  • I love the way we have to dangle the carrot in front of our men in order for them to shut up and put up with money saving/cost cutting ideas ;)

Well done on getting all those freebies, I am useless at getting them. I fill out forms and they never turn up :rotfl: I'm not sure where i'm going wrong! Have fun doing the housework...i'm on strike today far too tired! xx

  • Hi debtfree321, DH has to see be coaxed were MS is concerned, but I will say his is on board, just needs chivvying along now and then.

Freebies mainly come from freebie board on here and survey testing, I'm supposed to have some shampoo and conditioner coming soon from a survey site which will be brill as I have nearly ran out of the free panten£ shampoo/conditioner that I got sent from supersavvyme.
  • I'm so cold today, I'm sat in jeans, socks a top and a hoodie and can't get warm. I've made some ginger tea and laid the woodburner, If I'm still cold after taking DD riding I will be lighting it, have a couple of free wooden pallets that DH brought home from work so will burn those.
  • Go and break up the pallets that will warm you up.
Nothing to see here, move along.
  • Spicy carrot soup sounds delish!

Hope you get warm soon Xx

  • Hope you're not coming down with something PWPS. Get some vitamins in you. Coveredinbees has a good point. Breaking up pallets would warm me up! Just running the vacuum cleaner round does it for me usually :rotfl:

The soup does sound fab. I need to try this! Lucky has just told me to eat more lentils and here you are dangling the carrot in front of MY nose :D Glad hubby was kind of on board with the meal/meat saving. Why do men have to have meat? Does it directly correlate to their masculinity? Do they do some kind of *Man course* I don't know about which demands they eat meat, and partake of the spiciest curry in the restaurant etc? Maybe it is just a caveman thing. If so, provide the meat, without costing me anything, and I shall cook it! Unless it has fur, or eyes, or visible tyre marks... :rotfl: So basically a raw steak, knocked over gently by a little old lady driving at 4mph, who did not then run over it. :)

Get warm soon, and stay well! There is a cold doing the rounds in my house. I am warding it off with vitamins and dettol. x

  • I did manage to warm up once I'd been out with the pony and helped DD muck out :D.
  • Ok, so yesterday was a crazy, manic day, church first thing, followed by DS having a footie match and then off to help DD with Pony, back home for lunch which was just cheese and crackers.

I'd been very good and got up early and wacked a beef stew in the slow cooker and hung out washing, between myself and hubby we managed to get 4 lots done yesterday which was quite an achievement considering we were running around everywhere.

In the after noon whilst helping DS with homework, DH and DD decided to help by baking a cake for packed lunches, the first one they made they used plain flour and realised once it was in the oven so I couldn't rectify it was baking powder as it was half cooked:mad:, so that was binned and they started again this time using the right flour but still have no idea what they did as it came out like a pancake, so two cakes binned dozen eggs wasted and a load of baking ingredients:mad::eek:, they were using my fail proof recipe as well, anyway I stepped in and made a dozen choc chip muffins that were lovely:D.

In laws came round late afternoon and stayed for tea good job I had bought plenty of meat for casserole, also made yorky puds to bulk it all out, didn't mind though as they ha brought us lots of goodies from there trip to France, wine, chocolate, cheeses, beers and a spicy sausage thing, children also got lots of french sweets and snacks so everyone happy, they also brought over a glut of tomatoes and courgettes from their garden:D:D:D.

This morning I've been up early, done the animals, made packed lunches and put the italian bean stew in the slow cooker, already smells lovely, may have it for tea but give DH some of the sausage in laws brought in his portion so he gets his meat quota, I'm quite happy with it veggie, will have it with some crust bread, nom nom.

    Have a good day.x.
  • Evening, it's been another beautiful day here and DH has earn't brownie points as when I got back earlier he had brought in the load of washing I had put out first thing and hung another load out which are now dry:D.

Payday is 1 week away and I have £120 in bank account out of this I need to cover a DD payment of £70 and put £30 of fuel in car, leaving me with £20:eek:, DD has claimed the £10 note that was sat in my purse for some materials she needs for tech soo I now have around 7p left , so I've been having a bit of a think of how I can eek everything out to next payday and not touch the £20 which can then be overpaid to Mr T card, I have £5 in nectar points and will need fruit and veg by the weekend, I think there is 3 loaves of bread in the freezer and a bread mix in the cupboard so that should see us through for sandwiches, also going to make flapjack and chuck some dried fruit in instead of buying cereal bars, I think I'm just going to have to challenge myself to spend as little as possible.

    Take care.x.
  • Also forgot to mention we have run out of oil, DH is going to order some, goodness knows what that is going to cost, at the moment we are only using it heat up water to wash dishes, so will need to boil a kettle, but I know we will need oil as winter is coming and CH will be on, I'm sure we havn't oredered any since January will need to check back through diary, it has lasted because I turnrd the CH off back in April and if it was cold just lit the wood burner.
