Hi Guys and thanks for posting.
Had an awful day last sunday, more family issues which just seemed to tip me over the edge, I have never felt so down and broken since my dad died, I seemed to cry until I had no energy left, the beginning of the week was difficult as I felt so depressed I couldn't seem to function properly, the result has been chaos in the house, washing not done and the meal plan went out of the window as I just couldn't be bothered, all I wanted to do was sleep yet at night I could not.
Friday was a turning point, DS has passed the 11+ and has been offered a place at the local Grammar school, to say I am proud is an understatement and we went out for tea to celebrate, It managed to bring me back to myself and realize who and what is important to me.
Yesterday I sat and chatted to DH and we talked about how I am feeling at the minute about things that are going on with family, I felt much better for it and I know I need to do it more as I do tend to bottle things up and not really talk.
Went shopping yesterday and spent very little on groceries, meal plan for the week done and I spent £9 in asda on groceries and went to sainsbugs for the rest and spent £23.57 but used £12.50 in nectar points, so only cost me £11.07, not bad for a weeks shop. Bought DD more school shirt so that was another £6 and put £30 of fuel in the car.0 -
Today has been a busy one, put slow cooker on this morning and have carrot and lentil soup bubbling away., have also made a large victoria sandwich cake and some choc crispie cakes.
Meat and potato pie for tea tonight used left over braising steak from last nights tea.
Managed to get 3 loads of washing dried today as the weather has been lovely and have another load in that can go on the airer overnight.
I have a pile of school uniform to iron, but going to do that later I'm watching last sundays downton as I didn't get to watch it last week with family drama going on.0 -
Hi PWPS
Wondered where you had got to. I am sorry you have been feeling so upset and down. Easier said than done, but please don't let family ruin your life, and never ever let them make you feel 'broken'. You are a super fab strong mum, and DS just proved it. I am glad that you have managed to get back on track and figure things out and especially talking to DH. That must make a lot of difference.
DS passing the 11+... and getting accepted at the Grammer, is FAB news. Well done him, but also to yoou and his dad. No mean feat!!
Hope you have a relaxing and chilled afternoonlook after you xx

:j:jCongratulations to DS Penny, what wonderful news:beer:
Sounds like it came at the right time, it's your children that matter, not all the past rubbish. we can't change it we can only change our reaction to it.

Evening Pennywise,
Glad to hear you're ok now. Is there any way you can cut these people out of your life? They are not worth making you so upset like this?
Massive well done to DS thats fab news.
You are sounding very organised with the shopping and baking/meal plans. Don't be put off you're doing so well xxMummytogirls x0 -
Well done to DS! Amazing what good parenting can do to help motivate a clever child to want to do better than good enough.
Glad you're feeling more yourself again, horrid when the external stuff gets so much on top of you and there's nothing you can do about it.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
