Good Afternoon everyone! Have been humming and hah-ing over changing my mobile contract, read every bit of advice I could find on here and elsewhere and have finally done it. Now wondering whether I've done the right thing, of course! That's me, Mrs Indecisive herself! (Hope that's not someone's username!)
Hope all those with Year 6 children survive until tomorrow afternoon and then enjoy the w/e! Too much stress...
Hugs to all who need themResolution:

pooky - i dont know where youre going - but hope you have a nice time "slimmy"!:D
churchmouse -whats the "mouse" reference, im abit lost there?
essex-girl - oh yes lovely letter racks with picture on the front! :rotfl: (ive got one of those - and does a mighty fine job of holding all my bills:o
Shez, when Pen-Pen said she'd call a chook shez, I showed off and said why not after me since I'd liked her girls too!:D But i conceded the poor hen might have an identity crisis, named after a mouse. Anyway Pen-Pen said first one was shez, next mouse and asked if anyone else wanted a bird named for them:D I'm just concerned about my surrogate daughter:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Afternoon :hello:
Queenie - sorry to hear about Silky ((hugs))
Mr Shez, Mr smokybabe and all others who are ill - ((hugs)) and get well soon!
Essex-girl/AussieLass - about holiday souvenirs and so on - tired mum's mention of a rosary made of beer bottle tops really made me laugh, as I have a couple of friends whose mission in life is to collect "Catholic tourist tat". There are rich pickings to be had if you happen to be in Lourdes or the Vatican. Statuettes of the Virgin Mary with a light-up halo, or of Jesus with weeping wounds/light-up stigmata... The best one I've heard about was from another Catholic friend, who was in Rome and passed by a souvenir shop with a window display including a picture of Christ on the cross - my friend walked past and did a double take as he could have sworn the picture winked at him! On closer inspection, he found it was one of those pictures where you see two different versions of it as you move past... and it depicted the moment of Christ's death :eek:You've got to laugh at the tackiness of it, but imagine giving house room to something depicting the most solemn defining image of your belief system, which makes you burst out laughing whenever you look at it
Anyway... I have been off site at meetings since lunchtime yesterday and have been impressing some people with my Excel wizardryI think I could have a good few nights out funded entirely by all the people at work that owe me a drink!
Have just had a portion of yummy HM asparagus soup for my lunch, and am looking forward to a chill-out evening at home with posh sausages for tea, accompanied by the remains of a bottle of wine which somehow - miraculously - I have had the willpower to stretch over three evenings! Also I really must clean the bathtub - it's foul  and my glass basin and shower screen. Must look up that thread from the other day about HM cleaning products for this
Right - back to work now... where's that expense claim form gone...

hang on a minute...whats the catch CM??? Its not gonna be one of those "adopt a chicken" things is it??? and Penpen is expecting us to pay £5 per month for the up keep of our chook? it might be a ruse CM so that we have to pay for PenPens "wine addiction" :rotfl::rotfl:
bargainrzl - glad you mentioned asparagus soup, Ive got some to use up and fancied trying soup - what recipe do you use? Shouldnt laugh at the winking jesus - it could have been a miracle they witnessed you know!!;):rotfl:0 -
Shez - it's the "cream of asparagus" recipe out of the Lindsay Bareham book - if you don't have it I can try to remember to bring the book to work tomorrow so I can PM it to you (it's such a pain having my home computer out of action at the moment!)

Hi Y'all, well I've landed back in the wolrd of OS with a thunk! The job at the council offices is over for the time being so no more going out pretending I'm a normal adult. LOL
The cats are pleased to see me back where I belong tho, apparently having to go a full five hours without having their chins tickled was more than they could bare and mini MATHLETT says he "likes to know where I am, while he is at school". I've suggested he chain me to the washer each morning so I don't go AWOL:rotfl:
I am desperately looking forward to my paycheque at the end of the month. So far as well as normal expenditure I've had to shell out for:
Holiday Home Rates for Lincolnshire
Three new tyres for Mrs MATH's Car
Two new tyres for my car
Vets bill for one cat
3 school day trips for the MATHLETTS
I don't think there will be much left of it once I've settled up.LOL
Gotta dash - It's nice to catch up on all ya doings!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I never thought of that!! Well if it is that I pay for her upkeep I shall expect her eggs to wing their way to me:D(does her wine *habit* cost a lot? Mine's expensive enough, without taking on someone elses!!!!!)

Shez love the new Colin Firth avatar - is it from Bridget Jones? I think I prefer him in his Mr Darcy get-up but he is handsome whatever he's wearing imho.
Queenie sorry about Silky.
The "beer top" rosary - spluttered my water all over my desk when I read that!
Malta has quite a few "holy" shops. Once when XDH and I were on holiday we went into Valletta and were looking for something to take back home for my parents. Passing one shop, XDH said "why don't you get your mum one of those capes with the cross on it?". He was only looking at a vestments shop for the local priests. Can't imagine my mum wearing a priest's chasuble to the shops. "Super-Mum - The Caped Crusader of North Lanarkshire"!
I have to pick DS up from school today as the other boy is off sick (again). Other than last week when he had his SATs I don't think he has had a full week's attendance at school since the start of the year. It's not all illness (he is not coping at all with his parents splitting up but his parents don't seem to be doing anything about it.). I feel quite sorry for him at times.
Dinner for DS and I will be mustard and pepper turkey breast with cous cous and veggies. DD will probably have fish or chicken.
Hope to get the washing up to date later too. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
