Hi there everyone, wet and dull here in N Wales, it looks like I will have to use the tumbler today again.

OH isn't too clever at the mo and spent most of yesterday sleeping. He looks a bit better today and is up and about but have taken the day off work to keep an eye on him.

The 2 eldest loved the trip to the nature reserve and the eldest seems to have discovered a thing for bird watching asking us what the birds are in the garden and for us to log down everyone we see - as he will, even seagulls. We will see if it lasts.

The usual to do here, and I may do the net curtains this afternoon. I also will make them a lasagne and garlic bread for tea and I really should have a no eat day (if only it were that easy!) today to make up for the takeaway we had last night to celebrate OH's birthday. Way too much curry and alcohol was partaken of, at least two days worth of points.

MyKitten-hugs.gif to everyone in need of one today.

    See you all later,

    Smoky. xxxx

    Hi everyone,
Queenie, Im glad Silky is no longer suffering.
DD1 and I woke up this morning with DD2's sore throat, I was hoping DD1 wouldnt come down with it until next week, after her SATS, buts its s**s law I suppose. Never mind - today she has mental maths and maths paper A and tomorrow its maths paper b, then its all over with, hurray! I find them nearly as stressful as she does, but have some nice things planned for the weekend and she has been invited by a friend to a disco and sleepover on Saturday as well.
I dont know about anyone else, but I am getting very fed up of all this rain! Its about time it warmed up and brightened up I think. Had just put away the winter stuff and the darker rugs in the porch etc and as always happens every year after I do this, the weather changes. Now I have mucky footprints all over my lighter coloured rug, so that is being scrubbed later.
The only advantage to all this rain is that today I am doing my least favourite task (cleaning windows and washing, ironing and rehanging nets) if it was dry I would clean downstairs outside too, so at least I dont have to do this until it dries up.
Whilst I am going from room to room cleaning each window and then later ironing nets I will be catching up on a bit of TV watching and finishing off a DVD from lovefilm - "Ever Decreasing Circles" anyone remember that? Richard Briers is hilarious.
Right - no more prevaricating - Im off to clean my windows (using water and vinegar of course!)

    Morning everybody,

Going to meet an ex work colleague in a minute...have been busy this am and now have two machine loads of washing festooned on airers around the house, I hate drying towels this way but can't do anything else with the misty rain that's around.

Off to Cork to-morrow until Sunday to spend weekend with DD1, looking forward to it as Cork is allegedly a fascinating city, looking forward to visiting the English Market which is praised by all and sundry for its range of food and prices...we shall see, but I must remember that I am travelling by train and not load myself down.

    Have a lovely day everyone

    Morning,

Havent been on as its been one of those weeks! - DH has been very ill since last wednesday, sick, pains, etc - resulting in sunday nite calling the ambulance out cos he had severe chest pains. Checked him over and wasnt a heart attack and sent him home. By tuesday he was still really bad so got him to phone doc - he immediately said it was his stomach and very dehydrated!! - either food poisoning or a stomach bug - gave him some stuff to take for nausea, stomach pain and those replenish fluid drinks and said if he didnt keep that down yesterday to go straight back into hospital to keep him in and put him on a drip. Luckily he has started to keep that down and feeling abit today!

In the meantime Ive been running around like blue a*se fly (as you do) between work, pickin kids up, etc etc (you know)

So I have been reading the thread - but not really felt like posting when you feel down do you? - I REALLY hate posting glum news too! Dont want to make people feel depressed:o

Anyway, I have bought Paul McKenna's "How to change your life in 7 days" "Instant Confidence" and "I can make you thin" books/cd - hoping that will bring in some positive vibes! Ive listened to the CD for 3 days now - SO ive only got another 4 days left for these big changes!!:D
Also was very impressed with Pookys results on the weight loss:T so cant wait to get started there! (She says fancying a coffee and a donut:rolleyes: :rotfl: )

catowen - :T congrats on the £50 - that premium bond winning fever is sure going through the thread!!!
twink - Agree Asda never reduce their yellow sticker foods by much do they!
    (meanies)
Catznine - I see you on your hols now - glad your having a lovely time, cant wait to hear and see some pics when yr back!

Queenie - Sorry to hear Silky, awww. What with PenPenguins chooks too its not been very "Chook Friendly" lately on here has it, but you did good by givin her a better life for a while - god will be smiling down on you;)
Yesterday I had a go at your "Microwave Sponge" (with syrup) - it was great:T will definately do that again! thks

Aussielass - Agree with tiredmum - have competitions with yr friends to see who can find the tackiest!! Sometimes you have to have a few tacky ornaments - they make you laugh or jog memories of parents/grandparents that used to have them:D

I used to like from southend those little pixies that sit in the boats with the little fishing rod!:rotfl:

    now im rambling....time to go
    TTFN all xx

Wondered where you'd been Shez - hope DH feels better soon. Good luck with the CD's too, I'm even more determined now I've seen results.

Running around like a loon today to get things tidy before we go away tomorrow, why is it we feel the need to clean the entire house before we go away (or is it just me?? )

Need to go make some burgers, some pizza dough (still not got round to it) and pack some basic food bits and bobs ready.

Just realised that DH gets paid next week and we've still got over £300 left in his account....probably forgotton to pay something knowing me so won't go splashing out.

Hope you all have a great weekend.....(and please pray for nicer weather)

    Good afternoon!

Not got very much done so far today, but got my hair cut this morning so don't look quite so much like a witch dragged through a hedge backwards:eek: DH actually said it looks lovely:D (but i do think he needs his glasses changed, just don't tell him:rotfl: )

Queenie, glad chook passed quickly, although sad for you.

Aussie, you could never choose tacky gifts! You like us on here and we're not in the least tacky:D

Shez, must have been worrying with DH, hope he's completely better soon.

Not seen Pen-Pen today. Isn't today hatching day? I need to know if mouse has arrived safely, and if she's as lovely as her namesake;)

Must fly, (((((hugs)))))) to all the poorly ones, hope I don't get any of these nasty bugs doing the rounds!

Hello everybody and hugs to all - and a special silence for Silky

Well, sat here eating my cheese sandwiches (had a banana for brekkers) with a packet of the crisps left over from a leaving do last week :j yoghurt to follow and I've actually been eating my yogs too.:A Shattered last night and was in bed asleep by about 8.30 - this recovery is a long haul. Still no windscreen wipers attached (hopefully today as Mr Rage is meant to go to Glasgow on Friday straight from work to see The Waterboys with his Brother - I wasn't bought a ticket but SIL was  ) also Mr Rage bit narked this morning as he has to fill in a form for the Inland Revenue by tomorrow and has lost it - I'm keeping out of it. Lunch as above for me and then dinner will be whatever I can find - no cheese, no potatoes (pasta salad and a couple of cooked sausages in the fridge for Mr Rage after football). Just hoping to get through the day really. I'm making sure that I don't "do eevrything at once" which was my modus operandi before - nobody else seems to so I'm taking it slow. Mr Rage is also unhappy about the apple tree that we brought from the rented out house and planted in our garden. Not the best time to move it I know but I didn't want to leave it there with a load of lads (and footballs). It had flowered and had set apples and we brought it up and of course the leaves had started to wilt. We planted it and gave it lots of water and I think it's perked up - trouble is some of the leaves are going brown/yellow and Mr Rage says it's on it's way out. I'm sure it would have died before now as it's about 3 weeks since we moved it at the ends of the branches "fluffed up" again. I think it'll make it and this is just collateral damage. Got some things to list on e-bay tonight as well for a Sunday finish. Does anyone sell seeds? I'm going to have loads of bluebells, columbines and forget-me-nots and I may as well make some money (foxgloves and poppies too later on). Right I'm off for a surf!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Goodmorning everyone,

I was so tired last night I went to sleep around 7pm :o guess who woke up at 2.40 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I would have jumped on the computer but I would have disturbed DH in the process. I'm so sweet and thoughtful. :D

Well the 29 Steps was just that. ;) Very interesting though. Not a lot planned today as it's a bit drizzly. Have got two *free* museum type things to do as it's not a good day for walks unless your a duck.

Essex-Girl I'm now worried when I had over my *presents* to my family & friends that they will think they are tacky now. :D

DH has just got out the shower. So my turn. Towel firmly in place PP.
HOpe you all have a lovely day & (((((hugs))))) to those that need them. Byeeeeeee

ooooh no not you AussieLass I imagine you are a lady with taste - after all you are on here.

My inlaws are something else - they used to go caravaning a lot all over England - Ive had many a letter/key holder from somewhere but the scary thing was when they went away for the next time they bought me back another one from somewhere else. The tea towells arent too bad - Ive tea towells from most of England - not that useful as I have a dishwasher but ok for cleaning.

The best thing was when they went to Spain they bought us some black soap - according to MIL its all you can buy in Spain - strange though as have been to Spain and never seen black soap!

I know I sound ungrateful but now I have dipped into the world of ebay selling it wont be so bad. I'll give it a couple of days then put them on there. Someone must be able to make use of a frog made out of shells with Morcambe Bay written on it.

(Ive bet Ive dug myself into a hole and someone on here has a shell frog - much loved. Think Ill shut up now)!:D
