I'm sorry, but if I was assaulted by a store employee overusing their authority in the course of their duties, I wouldn't inclined to "get over it! Sounds like some serious retraining needed in that store.0 -

However, will the store manager have learnt anything and will their training and procedures change because of this one incident or will it be forgotten about in a matter of days?
If I was in the store and I assulted the store detective or store manager, I doubt if there would be much hesitation with me being prosecuted and I don't think it would ignored simply because I looked a bit upset.
The manager did nothing bar make a phone call in another language, look anxious and mutter. She took no control over the situation.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -

Had it not been for the near immediate arrival of the uniformed retail park security guard, I may well have "struggled".Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -

His actions were completely over the top. He should have approached me (even with the retail park security) and asked a few questions. It would have been resolved in good faith.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -

And I am a Sassenach who HAS been, several times. It's a fun, vibrant city and *99% of Glaswegians are fine people, very hospitable and I have always enjoyed my visits. Glasgow's Bad Rep is based mostly on hearsay and old TV series.
*The other 1% can be a pain, but that is probably a much lower percentage than a lot of English cities and towns I have stayed in.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

As a Glaswegian by birth, I assume your comment is NOT aimed at me! However, I agree, Glasgow is an awesome city!Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -

That is different to be fair but if say you had grabbed an arm of a customer service person you are trying to get the attention of I would say the vast majority time it wouldn't lead to a prosecution albeit being a wrong actionDon't trust a forum for advice. You didn't have to empty your pockets or bags. Only a police officer has the power to search you.
