  • oh i know, but sometimes toying with a troll for sport can be fun!

    Hiya girls,

Well I've had a fun couple of days. Monday night I started bleeding - birght red with clots - cue panic! Never had anything like this with DS. Anyway, phoned the hospital, they wanted to check me over, kept me in overnight (read: kept me in for nearly 24 hours, mainly spent waiting for (very nice but very busy) people to deal with me - dontcha just love the good old NHS ).

Anyhoo, everything's fine, the bleeding stopped almost as quickly as it started and they don't know what caused it - apparently it's just "one of those things"! I had a scan and everything is the way it should be. The placenta is up at the top, which is good news, so it's not it that caused the bleed.

The baby's doing great. :j He's still most definitely a boy, and a big one! :D I got a bit concerned when every single midwife that poked me said something along the lines of, "Ooh that's a good size baby!" or "Ooh it's all baby isn't it!", and then the scan lady confirmed that the baby is almost the same size now as DS was when he was born!

So anyway, better stop yapping now. :o The moral of the story is: be prepared for anything. And also: maternity wards are so hot (I'm gonna have to rethink my hospital bag - wonder if I could take a bikini! :rotfl: )

And now at 34 weeks I'm back to knicker-checking every 10 mins, just like in the first trimester - oh the fun.

    Oh, Dormouse!

Glad all turned out to be OK and on the bright side you got another scan out of it :rotfl:

    Take care of yourself xxx

Can I just have a moan please?

I've been up for the last hour (went to bed just after 9 - exhausted!) simply because I don't feel right. I have a niggly headache, I can't get comfy regardless of the number of pillows I arrange around myself, and I think I've got so tired I'm too tired to sleep. There's b*gger all on TV and nothing to do but I'm too tired to do anything anyway!

Right, moan over - feel better now - off back to have another go at sleep. Sorry everyone! :o

oh Eels I was like that the night before - I think it's just another of the great joys of pregnancy. We all know about how little sleep to expect with a new baby but no one warned me about the lack of sleep before!

What does a show look like???

I've just been to the loo and on wiping had some clear creamy coloured jelly like mucus (sorry if tmi). I've not had it at any other time in my pregnancy or before. I'm 38 weeks today and seeing my MW later so could ask her, but I'm excited that this is the start and want to know and knew you guys would be able to help.

Eels - hope you managed to get back to sleep and feel better this morning. Its awful when you can't sleep I always feel really rough for a day or so after a bad night. Try some warm milk if it happens again, works for me (and good for your calcium levels).

sounds like a show to me Welshlassie but that's only going by what the NCT woman said at the birth session on Monday I've not experienced it. Oh exciting it sounds as though baby is getting ready! Definitely tell your midwife when you see her.

btw ladies the M&S sale has started online - I think they're maternity tshirts and things are more generously cut than a lot of them (half my maternity clothes don't fit over my bump now  ).

Definitely sounds like a show Welshlassie - how exciting! :j When mine came out with DS, it was mucusy with a tiny bit of blood in. Just as well I stuck a pad in when it came out, as ten minutes later, my waters broke!

Ooh, how exciting - good luck! :j

I'm finding this too! I started with smaller maternity sizes just for comfort in the earlier months. I then graduated to my actual size - which meant stuff went round the bump, but unattractively loose underneath it (thank goodness for long smock tops). I now have...out of a huge selection aquired off Ebay and carboots... one pair of trousers that is comfortable. And I am not a dress person due to ugly legs and there's only so much you can wear with trainers . I dread to think what I'll be wearing by the end of the pregnancy . But it seems it will not be human clothes :D.

And Eels, I get these 'don't feel right' episodes at least every three days. Last time I had a headache, indigestion (then felt progressively sicker after gaviscon, milk and dry ricecakes...), lightheaded, stupidly tired, but of course couldn't lie down or sit up comfortably.
On good nights I will wake up for toilet only twice, but I do keep waking up whenever I want to change position, I guess it takes all your senses to perform that task . And I still have 2.5 months to go!
I was so unhappy (hormones anyone?) last night, so uncomfortable, that hubby said why don't you have a rest tomorrow, just stay in bed and relax. He just doesn't get how uncomfortlable everything is. Even relaxing :rotfl:
