Welshlassie, does sound like something is going on, but you don't really want to be running to midwives with wind do you. It could just be general preparation for the birth, as CG said.
It's funny, you go to classes, read books, but at the end of the day I suppose you have no idea what to expect. I don't suppose any expert will know the extent of each of our suffering, it varies so much.

Eels100, do you want to go into labour? I'd have thought it's safer to wait till next week, unless baby changes its mind of course and heads down.

I'm getting more confused as time goes by. In the classes they like to say birth is natural and we are all equipped for it. So far, they all refuse to talk about stuff that goes wrong and why we need all these pain relief options if it's all so straightforward. We saw a video of a woman give birth to a small elephant, and she made it look easy. Why do we need classes then? I want to be ready for stuff going wrong, so I can deal with it, not a quick painless birth, which I do not need coaching for.

And why does it take so long to make this baby! I've been pregnant forever and still have forever to go. *sigh*

Welcome emjem! NO Agutka, I don't want to go into labour - scary bad things involving ambulances and diving onto my hands and knees have been advised should I get going before next week! I got a right fright last night though. And for penance baby's been really quiet today just to worry me. Makes me think it knows something's going on. I'm getting the odd shoogle but not much ... it's plotting something, I know it! :)

Sounds like Welshlassie's threatening to beat me to it anyway ... do keep us posted!

Thanks guys. Can't wait to become pregnant and have all the symptoms.

You can definately quote me on that when (hopefully) I'm on here complaining of leaky boobs and swollen ankles!

Aaah, big hugs all round! :grouphug:
I must say, this is actually the best place I found to get advice. How many pregnant women do you know in real life? And mothers don't count cause they've forgotten and medical staff just wave you on, as it's all normal apparently. And Emma's diary, the only other forum I've joined is full of text-speak 17 year olds.

Eels, sounds like your baby didn't enjoy it much either. All that squishing. I'm guessing they can have off days just like the rest of us, baby has just phoned in sick and is staying in bed eating biscuits all day. Put on a soppy movie and watch it together...;)

None now. Four of my friends have just had babies (all gorgeous) in the last three months! However, face to face I wouldn't like to ask them too much info about whether they are still pouring warm water on their bits when they go to the loo! Much better to do it on here!

    Q. How many pregnant women do you know in real life? A. I am one of five women in my office who have been pregnant in the last year, three of us at the mo. There are only about 20 people in the office!Welcome Emjem, best of luck with TTC, hope it happens soon for youPoor Eels, I feel for you. Must have been really frightening. Hope the actual birth is less scary than the scare.I think i am beginning to look properly preggers as opposed to fat, because today a colleague came up to me and said "your bump's getting big now isn't it. Of course i knew you were pregnant ages ago, you had that pregnant look about you" and i was like "what, sweaty and over-tired?"but i am really pleased to be obviously pg now, although i am still waiting for the bus to be crowded enough so i can fully test it.
:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T
