I got all excited this week as i think i felt baby moving around, well thought it was just wind at first but didn't blow a gale
, i'm 17 weeks and definatley cannot get my jeans on but looking forward to going shopping
.
My SIL gave me some baby clothes at the weekend and i just melted, i can't remember DS ever being that little.
I've not been on here for a while as i've not been too well, i scared DH so much with being sick about 20 times a day and then going dizzy every time i moved, i couldn't walk without him holding me up, i ended up in the hospital but am on the mend now with some tablets that are helping my sickness and dizziness, have been told that i have hyperemesis, gastritis and viral labyrinthitis.
Definatley no more children after this one:rotfl:
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks girls. I'm still here so by the feel of it, it was just excess trapped wind. My trousers were v tight yesterday whic I don't think helped, but I'm refusing to buy anoter pair of work maternity trousers with only 3 days left in work and 2 weeks (ish) left being pregnant. Will just have to wear dresses from now on.
I had a bath after dinner (which I really didn't fancy) and that really helped. I still had some horrible cramps after going to bed, but things have eased off this morning. I've got hydro later so want to last long enough for that, and our final parent craft class tonight. The clasess haven't actually been as much use as some of your classes. They literally have just told us about the pain killing options, and the mechanics of "thinning" and shown us around the Midwife and Consultant led units. Tonight is about complications that can occur, so not hugely useful about what to look for, especially as whenever anyone asked a question about what to do in certain circumstances they just said call your midwife for advise.0 -
Welcome emjem, hopefully you will be on the BIG list v soon. The girls hear are fantastic. I gave up the other pregnancy forums when my sibscriptions ran out as they were mainly american and I struggled to keep up with who everyone was and got jealous of all the scans and checks they seem to have (although it did seem to make them a bit paranoid).
Eels - keep your legs crossed until they open the sun roof :rotfl: . I have no intention of beating you to it. My mother is in Germany until Friday and would kill me if I went before she got back. I don't finish work until Friday and want at least a couple of days to myself before baby arrives, Harry Potter needs reading. :rotfl:

Hi Ladies
Hope you are all well.
We are considering a trip to St.Lucia in October and all being well I will be 18 weeks by then. Might be our last chance for a adult only holiday for a few years
Does anyone have any advice on travelling at this stage in pregnancy ?
I am assuming St. Lucia will have adequate medical facilities should a problem arise.
Any advice much appreciated

Regarding the medical facilities, don't assume they are ok, do some research. Make sure your travel insurance covers you, we have annual cover and I just phoned them to check and tey said as long as I'd not previously had a problem pregnancy I had nothing to worry about.
Think about the type of food you'll be eating when you go out there, are you able to eat it or is there a lot of seafood which you shouldn't really eat (sorry not sure about it myself).
It is perfectly safe for you fly at 18 weeks, just remmeber it may be a long flight and you are more at risk of DVT on long flights and pregnancy can also increase that risk so buy some flight socks or do the recommended exercises (or both). Also make sure you drink lots of water, flying can really dehydrate you and you need you liquids all the more when you're pregnant.
Most of all, if you decide to go, Enjoy as it may be the last adult only holiday you have for a while. :T0 -
Hi PiscesPrincess. St Lucia is wonderful. If it's R&R you're after then that's the place to be!
Has anyone had any experience of using the ovulation predictor strips? Have bought some to try this month. Just realised that the first day I need to test we will be at my MIL's for the weekend - interesting!:A I can fly :A0 -

Can't help with the ovulation stick I'm afraid, but I predicted ovulation by taking my temperature and checking my cervical mucus (cheaper way, but as effective). I caught the first month of doing this. The logged all my details on www.fertilityfriend.com and to helped be identify my fertile time and keep track of symptoms that could indicate, the different stages of your cycle. Good luck0 -
Hiya girls,
Well I've had a fun couple of days. Monday night I started bleeding - birght red with clots - cue panic! Never had anything like this with DS. Anyway, phoned the hospital, they wanted to check me over, kept me in overnight (read: kept me in for nearly 24 hours, mainly spent waiting for (very nice but very busy) people to deal with me - dontcha just love the good old NHS ).
Anyhoo, everything's fine, the bleeding stopped almost as quickly as it started and they don't know what caused it - apparently it's just "one of those things"! I had a scan and everything is the way it should be. The placenta is up at the top, which is good news, so it's not it that caused the bleed.
The baby's doing great. :j He's still most definitely a boy, and a big one!I got a bit concerned when every single midwife that poked me said something along the lines of, "Ooh that's a good size baby!" or "Ooh it's all baby isn't it!", and then the scan lady confirmed that the baby is almost the same size now as DS was when he was born!
So anyway, better stop yapping now.The moral of the story is: be prepared for anything. And also: maternity wards are so hot (I'm gonna have to rethink my hospital bag - wonder if I could take a bikini! :rotfl: )
And now at 34 weeks I'm back to knicker-checking every 10 mins, just like in the first trimester - oh the fun.0 -
Sorry you've had to deal with the Dormouse, glad you're ok now. Make sure you're resting lots then.0
-
Glad everything's now ok Doormouse.
You mean the knicker-checking carries on even when you are pregnant? Sounds like me when my period is (hopefully not) due!:A I can fly :A0
