So after 3 years of SPD since the first one(which was a 12 hour horrendous induced labour at 42 weeks), 19 weeks on crutches, an agreement for a c-section on the 30th and a condition in maternity notes from cheif maternity blokey that she shouldn't push for more than 30 minutes due to condition before being considered for c-section, the rather odd timeline was

Yesterday, mild period pain, couple of leaks during day, midwifes say ignore, book apointment Monday.
Sat 6AM - awoken to be shouted at waters have broken
Sat 6.05AM ask grandparents to drive 300 miles as closest relatives to come and help babysit no1 son later that day
Sat 6.15AM Maternity hospital say take time, have breakfast/shower, try and get here in an hour or so
Sat 6.30AM drop DS off at nextdoor neighbours who agreed to look after him till parents arrived(friends with child similar age)
Sat 6:50AM journey begins with lots at glaring at traffic lights of anyone not exceeding 30mph from Mrs WT
Sat 7:10AM arrive at hospital realising only have money for 4 hours parking. !!!!!!
Sat 7:15AM door handle nearly ripped off as trying to help Mrs_WT out of car during contraction
Sat 7:20AM midwife arriving on duty prevents Mrs WT from pushing at hospital entrance
Sat 7:22AM Mrs_WT tells midwife she bets she's only 3cm dilated. Midwife replies no fully, next contraction push
Sat 7:25AM contraction 1, head pops out
Sat 7:28AM rest pops out

shocked but happy to say the least, for two polar opposite deliveries look no further

At my antenatal classes this week: I was expecting the NCT to come out with stuff like this, but no, it was the midwife at the hospital (you know, the one that might actually be delivering my baby) who said the classic "imagine yourself opening like a flower"... before manhandling a poor doll baby through a plastic pelvis. I had tears in my eyes...

Congrats WT & wife

Can I join? Early days still so fingers crossed - got one DD who wis 4 and a 1/2 and one DS who is 23 months. I'm only just over 5 weeks gone and this one, if all goes well, will be due 14th March. However, I have a tendancy to go late - a week with DD and 11 days with DS. Hopefully won't be too late as mat leave will be eaten up with no bubs!
