(((((((Curious George))))))) Go and have a KitKat but make sure it's a chunky one and you HAVE to eat all the chocolate off the sides and the ends first ... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmyum! :D

Well done Jo_B! Have you thought about one of those inflatable rubber ring swimming toys for kids? Might make sitting more comfy? By the way, want pics, want pics now!

I forgot to ask the MW this earlier - does anyone else have a noisy bump? Mine makes clicking noises sometimes - I wondered where the noise was coming from at first but the last couple of weeks there have definitely been little high-pitched clicks sometimes when it's moving. Not sure if this is to be expected or just another reminder that I'm a freak of nature!

    Congrats Jo

    Eels - maybe you're having a dolphin ;)

my OH announced tonight that he'd invited his brother and 2 of his teenage nieces to come and stay overnight when I'm 38 weeks pregnant... I was speechless. He's been told to get a hotel for them or tell them to do something else. He understands that we might have a baby by then or around then but I don't think he really gets the reality of it nor that I don't want to be cooking for and sorting out beds for anyone at that point.
  • Thanks, JustKeepSwimming & Dormouse!

Its one less thing my pregnancy brain has to worry about! :D Yes, JKS, the test was really horrid - had bloods taken and then had to drink this most sickly sweet warm drink then have bloods taken again 2 HOURS later

Hey fac73, did you watch House last night? What a thing to see when you're pregnant... I blubbed my eyes out when the baby was squeezing his finger... :smileyhea
  • I did, Dormouse, though I had to look away for bits of it (which is no different to any other episode really...) :happyhear oh, House, though... very touching. I did get a lump in my throat. I nearly didn't watch it after reading the synopsis, thought it might be a bit hard.

But - can they REALLY do ANY of that? I always thought they had all the medical bits checked out to see if it made sense...

I dunno  It did seem quite incredible, I mean the baby was just 21 weeks  I'd like to think they can do all sorts of stuff, but DH, who's a bit more rational, went on about how they wouldn't be able to do any of that.

Anyway, at least it had a happy ending. :)

Hi Congratulations Jo on new baby.

I had Glucose test last week and my bruise from the blood test is just about going. I didnt think the drink was that bad really. Just tasted like traditional lemonade that had gone flat. Think the worst bit was not eating from 9 the night before.

By the way got to nip and buy some bigger trousers at the weekend. Any suggestions for the cheapest option... maternity or just larger sizes from Primark ?

I got my maternity trousers from eBay - they don't sell that cheaply because there's quite a market for them, but I managed to get 3 pairs from separate sellers, all of which cost me less than £3 each and were in good condition.

The thing with second hand mat wear is that it's rarely been worn that much (except all mine will get binned cos I was too tight to buy loads and I wore them for work and they're shot to bits now - since ML started I've been living in Matalan trackie bottoms at two for £10!) and it's often good quality in the first place. The ones I got were all from Next (sellers specify brand on eBay) and they were a nice fit.

Thanks for that. will pop down to Matalan over the weekend. There's also a big Asda Living near to me so might have a nosey in there. Let you know how I got on.

Signing off now as finishing work cos its POETS day.

    Hi All,

Finally started to feel like a normal person again. Am 16 wks + 5 and have finally stopped feeling sick, can eat pretty much whatever I like now (although still get indigestion from anything too spicy). Can't eat a lot in one go, so am sort of grazing, little and often and all that.

It is just so nice to be over all that first trimester horrid stuff. Can get excited now, have just bought my first 2 pairs of maternity trousers, as I have noticed my usual ones getting tight. Can't really notice a bump, but I have quite a tum anyway, so probably won't be really noticeable for quite a while!

Christmas seems a long way off at the moment, but we have loads to do in the meantime (sorting out spare room to make a nursery, redecorating etc.) so I am sure it will fly by.

Can't wait until 24th August, that is my next scan. Will really get to see what bubba looks like and how he/she has progressed. Still can't decide about whether to find out the sex or not. One day I think I don't want to, the next day I think I just have to know!!
