Congratulations, Jo, on the birth of your son!!!! Lots of best wishes to you and your family xxx

(PS: can't wait for your report when you can, erm, sit down long enough! x)
  • congrats Jo :T
I remember the stitches well! *shudder* dont forget to take a jug of warm water to the toilet with you and pour it down your bits while you wee :D

does anybody mind if i have a bit of a horMOANal moment?
I woke up after not much sleep with a pounding headache and im having a horrible day, my best friend died suddenly nearly 3 years ago and today is her birthday... normally i handle it quite well (its the death anniversary that gets me more) but thanks to the hormones i have almost no emotions between happy and crying at the moment, so i was in hysterics at the cemetary this morning... which of course made my headache worse,
then i had to rush back to pick up my daughter for a hospital appointment 30 or so miles away (the appt went really well) but the travelling has really tired me out (i dont drive so its been all buses and trains.. although i did get a lift home from the hospital with my mum and sister, but sadly also with my devil child niece who decided to screech most of the way back, and if she wasnt going on then my mother was, but thats nothing new)
add to all of this that my beloved OH is 300 miles away at a family funeral (and i couldnt go with him because of DD school and hospital) he is absolutely gutted, because of the funeral but also cos hes not here for me, im upset because i should be supporting him but im a mess because of my best friends birthday and between us... well, we are a bit of a state, we hate being apart and last night was my first night without him for soooo long (hence me not getting much sleep)

so....im sat here having a cup of tea and a kitkat and then im seriously considering doing the lazy mum thing of putting a film on for my DD and having a sneaky nap!
wow... it really does help just getting it all out (even if none of you read it! lol)
    thanks girls

CG, I was feeling quite sorry for you then, wanting to give you some word of encouragement, but then you completely ruined the mood.

    :rotfl:

I hate it when hubby goes away. He's just spent half the week 'oop north' and apparently going to Austria next week. Austria! I have no idea where this came from.
My mountain of symptoms doesn't bother me so much when I know there's someone there to call the ambulance

But anyway, get the DVD on and sweet dreams!
    :wall:
  • Congratulations Jen :j - hope you feeling well & the soreness is wearing off! Never had those kind of stitches after my 2 C-sections (Eels - another benefit) but the water in the jug advice worked for lots of my friends, as did salt in the bath. The NCT used to hire out things called Valley Cushions especially for those who couldn't sit comfortably due to stitches/piles - it may be worth asking your local branch if they still do it. The cushions basically have a valley in the middle so only your buttocks come into contact with it, taking pressure off the delicate areas! :rotfl:

Curious George :grouphug: - dont blame you for feeling hormonal - sounds like your family is having a hard enough time without all the extra fun of pregnancy. I'm feeling tired & emotional & I'm not even pregnant

SeptemberBaby - good news about your test - was it truly vile? I seem to remember feeling very odd after mine!

Eels - another C-section benefit. I can remember the midwife who took out my C-section stitches (didn't hurt, just tickled) handing me the 2 small white balls that had held the stitch in at each end & saying I could make a pair of earrings out of them! Haven't yet done that myself....
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

  • Probably here a bit early, planning to start ttc baby no.2 in Sept when we come back from holiday but i'm so excited i've been reading this thread already :) :j

I have Fibromyalgia which caused a lot of problems in my pregnancy with DD so my aim at the moment is to eat well, not get too stressed and take care of myself as much as possible for (hopefully!) an easier pregnancy next time around. I'm going to make an app with my doctor as soon as i come back from hols and see what he advises.

Looking forward to chatting to you all

    Take care

    Kate xxx
