I know, its a pathetic thing to lie awake at night over isn't it? I decided ages ago that the sandwiches would be Ham, Jam and Dairylea cos I see no point making anything more complicated.
Its the 'dessert' thats complicating matters, OH said Jelly & Ice Cream but Millie doesn't like Jelly and Ice cream but then I started wondering if they would want more than just choccy biscuits and mini rolls for afters, anyway whatever, thats all they are getting!!

Millie's mum what about mini pizzas? My DD and her friends used to love them when they were little:D
I used to love those parties, she had one every year from age 3-14:eek:
Good luck to all the ladies ready to pop, and looking forward to all the gorg baby pics to come:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Candygirl,
Thanks for suggestions but trying to stay away from things which need cooking cos we don't have access to a kitchen at the leisure centre so would need to cook things here and then transport them and because I stupidly booked the party for a day when I am having my hair cut and coloured in the morning I will only have a couple of hours in which to 'do' the food so apart from the sandwiches I need things which just require the packet opening!!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -

wonder if she has given birth yet?
I'm back!!! And when you posted that I hadn't given birth, I was two hours into the most delightful epidural!I have to warn you, well, if someone had told me this is what would have happened beforehand I would have freaked out, doing it: not so bad!
Contractions started 11pm 24th every five minutes! Got to the hospital at 11am, contractions every two minutes 6-7 dilated (go me!) baby still back to back so well, it was a bit on the painful side but my word it was nice when the contraction eased! Asked for an epidural which I highly recommend, not nearly as scary as I thought! Waited around playing eye spy for a few hours (time passed so fast it was amazing!) Then I was fully delighted (I nicked that off a midwife).
Contractions at this point decided to completely sod off! Pushed as hard as I could for an hour but we were getting nowhere. Had a hormone drip to try and boost the contractions (also a bit scared of that but it was actually completely fine) did some more pushing but she just wasn't up for getting out so the doctor decided we needed to use the forceps.
I was actually pretty scared at this point, there were two doctors, three midwives, a paediatrician, me and my husband (but still not flipping baby!)! But, I didn't even notice him doing the episiotomy (I just thought he'd got a bit devil may care!) and when he actually got the forceps in it really really helped me to push her out. In fact half a push for her head, and on the next push she was out!
Baby Celia was born on 25.09.08 at 20/30 weighing 7lb 12.5oz!
The next bit got a touch ridiculous. I had two doctor staring and staring at my nethers and occasionally sticking a finger up my bum (seriously, you'd think I'd be mortified but they were so matter of fact about it that it just seemed a perfectly normal thing to do!) as they thought I'd torn my back passage which would be a bit fun to sew up! After a lot of debate they decided I hadn't and sewed me up (although he took ages, I think I've got the Bayeaux Tapestry down there!).
Meanwhile over in baby corner someone had decided she didn't like the outside world thank you so they tried skin to skin with her and me but she was still unhappy! During labour I'd had a really rather high temperature and now so did she so they decided to send her down to neo natal. DH went with her and they took a load of fluid out of her tummy which cheered her up no end so after a couple of hours she was allowed back to me and she had the most enormous breast feed.
That bit was lovely it was finally just the three of us in a nice dark room. We had to stay in hospital for two days as they weren't sure what caused my temperature so I needed anti-biotics just in case but we're home now!
She's absolutely gorgeous and sleeps like a trooper.... during the day, not a chuffing wink at night which is rather hard (to put it mildly) but we'll get there! Stiches were sore but are healing nicely!
So there we go, sounds very scary but actually it wasn't so bad when I was doing it and midwives were absolutely superb. I'll grant you, not my favourite way of spending a Thursday but I wouldn't be as scared to do it again :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

Well Done, what a great birth story, you sound really positive about it all which is nice to hear and epidurals are great aren't they?
So glad Baby is OK, it must have been scary for you when they took her away.
Celia is a beautiful name, quite unusual nowadays but very stylish. (and one I had on my list but it won't go with our surname.)
Hope you are getting used to having baby, isn't that a weird feeling when you get home on your own and the world expects you to know what to do! And hope you are leaving the housework and sleeping in the day when baby does!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
