Hi everyone!
Sorry to hear so many people are suffering morning sickness - thankfully I don;t get too sick, just tired and achy.
I did yet another PG test today as I can;t get my head round being PG lol. Just a cheapie Tesco one but i has reassured me. I'm wondering about paying for a private scan as the NHS won;t do one for till 12 weeks and I am only 7. Are they worth it? I found a place online near me but it charges £150 for a scan! :eek: I thought it would be more like £60.
will the next five or so weeks go quickly or is it wortth having one do you think? I just feel like you get no official confirmation till you are 12 weeks gone.
Sarah - baby will come when it's ready. I'm sure you'll go into labour soon, just try not to worry (easier said than done I know! Lookj at me obsessively testing! What will I be like if I go overdue? lol):cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

The next 5 weeks will fly by. Besides - you can't guarantee a good scan that early so you could just be throwing money away. I understand the impatience though:p . I honestly find it incredible that its already been 15 weeks since I found out! Hi Skinty!
I waited until 12 weeks (I know it is a nightmare) but some of the ladies here had early scans, either because of worries/complications/illness or I think someone paid privately... I am not sure that you can see too much early onIf you are getting the babycentre emails then you will see that baby doesn't look very babylike yet (I am 18+1 and mine has just about started to look normal
)
But if you think of all the symptoms you are having, the queasiness, the sore boobs, the tiredness (which doesn't feel like any 'normal' tiredness does it) as signs that baby is there and is sticking then maybe you can calm down on the testing for a while!
It will fly by...honestplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

As I had one (unplanned) last week when I was just under 7 weeks then don't bother... you'd be throwing money away in all honesty. There is nothing to see other than a blob and a little pulsing blip which is the heart. The scanny lady even had to do a vaginal scan because it's just too far back and well hidden that the signals can't penetrate back up again...
I know you want one but I'd really not bother - if you want one that's worth it save it for half way between the scans you get free anyway
Sure it confirms you're pregnant but doesn't the morning sickness and the pregnancy tests do that anywayDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Skintchick i personally wouldnt bother until your 12 week scan, i have had 4 previous miscarriages so therefore have had scans and at 7 weeks you cant see anything so defo not worth spending out £150. At 12 weeks you will see a fantastic profile of your baby.
I dont want to upset you either by saying this but i also think you should stop wasting your money on pregnancy tests as the hormone stays in your system even if something has gone wrong with the pregnancy. i had a test done with one of my pregnancys at 13 weeks which was possitive and then went for a scan which showed just a sac mesuring 6 weeks.
I would just try and relax, i know its easier said than done. Five weeks will soon be here.

On the subject of names, I mentioned a few to colleagues at work yesterday ( we don't know if its a blue or a pink one!). DD is called Rosie and I quite liked the sound of Sophie but someone mentioned that the "webster" kids are called that on Corrie?! Good job I mentioned it as we don't watch corrie so would never have known!
Rosie keeps asking if the baby will come out naked and seems convinced if we dress it in pink, it will be a girl, bless her! She'll be 4 in Jan and keeps asking if she can choose its name but keep trying to explain she can suggest names but mummy and daddy will decide in the end..... just think, it could end up being sporticus, mr tumble or upsie daisie depending on what she has watched that day!Proud mum to Matthew born 23/11/08 7lb 13ozand Rosie 12/01/05 7lb 9oz0 -
Its so difficult isn't it! Everyone has something to say!
I really like Jack (my grandad's name) but we also decided not to choose anything from the top 10 stats list...and Jack has been No1 for the last 5 years!

The name we like is a bit unusual.. I'm not sure it's an actual name but my OH has a wild imagination and it's the name he gave to a character in a story he wrote years ago which he randomly remembered and we kind of settled on!
Hence, it's going to be one of those which will initially be greeted with a :think: kind of look from most people! Ah well.. we like it and it's unusual but pretty enough for everyone to like it once it's sunk in0 -
I know that the hormone stays in even if something's gone wrong but I find it reassuring in the absence of anything else.
I know it's silly
I just sooo want this baby.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

But you have symptoms - so it is not in the absence of anything else.
