Morning all,

Well, I am heading back home to see my folks at the end of the week which they are both thrilled about.

Problem is it seems to be the time where my casual trousers aren't fitting the best. I remember there have been posts about how to extend the life of your usual trousers but I can't remember how far back.

What do you ladies do? Use the hairbands around the buttons; or a belly belt

Thanks

If I remember correctly home is Oz? you could get some of those great really long tops @ Supre

And the weather is 20 odd degrees, depending on where you are going, I am officially jealous:p

Enjoy it

Afternoon ladies!

I've just been shopping as my Dads going to be staying here when we go on our hols on Thursday! (early hours of the morning)

Still haven't packed a thing which isn't like me at all, normally I'm packed at least a week before! I'm just so tired and haven't got the get up and go I normally have. Think I'll just throw it all into our cases and iron stuff as and when we need it while we're there.

Don't know if anyone else has or is suffering with wind?? My tummy feels like a space hopper, maybe it could be constipation?? I've been bottom burping like a trooper for the past few days, it doesn't smell though (sorry if TMI!), just pure wind!!!! I've had to buy bottoms in the next size up because my normal ones just won't fasten! Not to mention having to buy bras in the next back size up! I feel like a bloody big weeble :(

I'm only 9 weeks, but I'm not going to add myself to the list until I've been for my dating scan, which is on the 10th October, the day after we get back from holiday.
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
• Thanks for the welcomes guys

I am off to our second midwifes appointment this afternoon - can't say I am too keen on her - at the booking appointment we could barely get a word in edgeways to ask the couple of questions we had and when she went to take my bloods she poked around for ages and in the end gave up and got another woman to do it instead.

I wasn't overly taken on mine either - it just seems like she is trying to cram in everything she has to tell me into a session which is simply too short. It doesn't help that when she asks me how I am I automatically say 'I'm fine thanks, how are you?' :rotfl:

When I spoke to mine on the phone the other day though she was great - it's almost like they only come alive when they have to deviate from the script!

AF - the ball is okay at the moment...I now have 2 different sizes (didn't really think about how tall a 75cm ball is when I bought it! No crippling coccyx pain but my back feels a little fragile! My boss called before and I told him I would be in tomorrow with my trusty ball to give everyone a giggle - honestly ANYTHING other than the pain that I was getting.

• I am 7 weeks pregnant and am experience horrendous nausea and retching pretty much constantly throughout the day, even woke up in the middle of the night retching! I have spoken to my doctor who reccomended an anti-emetic (causes severe drowsiness so cant work machinery which I use in my job) or to take the next 5 weeks off work (totally impractical as am self employed).

Ihave tried crackers, small amounts of food throughout the day, ginger tea, ginger biscuits etc but to nothing seems to help!

Has anyone got any other practical tips?????

Ems - You are right. Gee, I forgot about Supre :D I think there is one at the big shopping centre near my mums. Can't remember if Target have a maternity section.

MFD - Oh dear, if i had to take the ball to work i would make a fool of myself for sure. Lucky you aren't as clumsy as me. But as you say, anything is better than the pain you are suffering with now.

Found out i can check in online, so hopefully will manage to pick a good seat which allows me to move about a bit.

Sorry, pregnancy brain :rotfl:

At least your hubby calls you Bambi, mine just calls me Jacka*s

I was out of the bath the other night, managed to trip over my own feet and knock into the raidiator letting out a very loud 'ouch':D
• Jack@ss! That's hilarious!

Ouch! and 'Oh my what a clumsy young thing I am' are what I usually say too ;):D

Shellsuit - I am with you on the babywind too - not smelly but definitely more frequent than before! I just blame bubba!

Are you going somewhere nice?

There is a host of things you can try - personally none of them work for me... I'm on cyclizine which I guess is what the doc wanted you on too :)

And yes... it makes you drowsy!

You can try the travel bands that work on accupressure, ginger biscuits, but the main things I found helped were eating little and often. Drink plenty of water but also milk. When I say eat little and often I mean EVERY hour! a mouthful or two is all it takes but you have to keep your stomach lined. If you get tired make sure you sleep - if you don't then it will only make it worse.
Try not to drink fluid at the same time as eating - leave it 15 mins inbetween if possible.

My routine right now (and this is aided by drugs!) is wake up - have a banana (I also have low potassium) then 15 mins later I get up have a large glass of milk and my morning tablet. Nibble my way to lunch on oranges, plums, apples, water melon, crackers, anything I fancy. Lunch bread with primula cheese and a glass of milk a bit later. Afternoon - well honestly I sleep most of the afternoon but when i'm not out cold I munch fruit or crackers, evening is anything I can face but often bread with primula :rotfl:
Some people swear by ginger biscuits - personally they did nothing for me...
If you buy the "i'm pregnant" magazine then it's got a whole article on morning sickness.
