Hiya - just popping in very quickly as off to SIL wedding this weekend and have a pile of things to do before leaving in about 3 hours!

Great birthstory keely - elliott is sooooo cute :D

Caz - congrats on a little girl :D

Mrs Tine, glad you are a bit better

MFD - I've decided not to buy bottles, formula or breast pump etc at the moment. If BF doesn't work out hubbie will be sent out to get supplies, but I hope we won't need them - and the B pump not until a little later on :D

re: MIL's staying - send them to the supermarket, post office etc for you - so you can ensure 1/2 peace every now and again. They can't really argue with you can they????!!!!

Good luck Fritha :D I expect a pg thread addition by the time I'm back next week :D

Hello! I'm off for my first midwife app in an hour - and hubby is off to his friend's funeral :( Will update you all later. I have no idea what to expect but have my wee sample ready.

Also did another PG test this morning as keep worry ing am going to miscarry. Had dampness in my knickers yesterday while out in London and was so worried till I could get to the loo. It was just discharge which I think is normal in second month, but nearly cried with relief!

Told my brother who seemed really pleased about being an uncle :D

Anyway, test today went positive within seconds! So I'm taking that as a good sign :) V strong line as well. (Boots tests are way better than Clearblue IMO).

Anyone else obsessively PG testing every few days? Or is it just me?

  • Hello Skint Chick,

I think it is safe to say that you are pregnant!

If I remember rightly we are due around the same time - about 18th May? I was just wondering how come you have your first midwife's appointment today? I rang up the docs weeks ago, was told I didn't need a docs appointment and to ring the midwife. I did this and she booked me in for Mon 6th Oct. I should be 8 weeks by then.

Is my appointment just not in synch with everyone elses and a bit late or have SkintChick just been given a relatively normally timed appointment? Just wondered!

Mrs Tine - glad you are back! As our due dates are within 2 days of each other, I felt for you!

The only thing that worked for me were travel sickness wrist bands, I wore them all the time and wish I had discovered them sooner.

I have invested in some of these now and do find that they are helping. I wear them in bed all night but I have to take them off for work as I haven't told my colleagues as yet...

Definately worth looking at if you are suffering from the dreaded ms...

    Thanks ickle :)

My first midwifes appointment is a week or so after yours so yours is early in my eyes! LOL Ok so granted I have probably seen more midwives than most see in their whole pregnancy in the last 3 days but still LOL

Then my first scheduled scan is the 3rd of November.

I got mine on a cancellation so I think I am a bit earlier than usual - she said I was too early to be able to hear the heartbeat anyway which is a shame as I don;t see her again till 16 weeks now, which is the first week in December.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who keeps testing, although now my friend and mum of three has told me the hormone that shows a positive stays in your body for a month after a miscarriage, I think I might stop!

I have a nuchal and dating scan at 11-13 weeks (have to call next week to book it) but other than that nothing :( So I won;t hear the heartbeat for a long time now unless I create an app with the midwife!

Midwife has given me a date of May 17 not 19 as the doctor said for my due date, but I'm not fixating on that as I'm sure it will be later than that.

Am now worrying about having said I'd go to the local hospital though as my friend said it's not a great one (dirty) and I should try and go somewhere else. I wasn;t even offered the place where she had her last one! Possibly a home birth? What are other people doing?
