Candygirl - I am tempted by the Dr Browns ones too but the tommee tippee ones have a teat which is more nipple like (so provides another temptation for me!!)
You can change the teats, we used tommee tippee teats (cos they were the only ones she would drink from) with avent bottles last time.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
Hope everyone is ok!

Hi MFD,
I use the TT CTN bottles without the straw bit as the straw version didn't come out til later, I really like them, only poss down sides are
you can't use teats by someone else because they are larger than normal (I didn't have any prob getting chris to use these teats so not a prob for me)
because the bottle are wider than usual wide neck ones they don't fit in most gadgets such as travel warmers I found the only one they fit was the polar gear one which is like a big version of those re-useable hand warmers that have a metal bit you click to make them go warm.
I have the microwave/cold water steriliser to match and am also very happy with that
Although my friends that managed to breast feed for a decent length of time (ie more than a few weeks like me) all found that the only teat they would accept afterwards was the mam ultivent ones that are flatter (you can put those teats on most standard bottles like avent) http://www.mamonlineshop.com/acatalog/bottles.html
HTH!
Ps sorry if this post is a bit mixed up Chris is sat on my knee listening to bob the builder on the headphones:rolleyes:
oh and the 2 or so bottle that you'll prolly get free with sterilizer will be fine until you know if b/f is working for you, if it doesn't I suggest having 8 bottles (get the large ones as you'll just have to replace the small ones after a couple of months) and the age suggestions on teats are not at all accurate you'll be on number 2's/mediums afteter about 6 weeks not a few months0 -
Oh ladies you are lovely...I need to start writing some of this stuff down or my baby brain will have leaked all this fantastic advice by this time next week!

Well chickadees I'm back home - 4 litres of IV fluid with potassium and some nausea suppressants and jabs and bloodtests and what not later...
Had scan this afternoon and it's not twins - saw tiny heartbeat so all is well
Been sent home with more drugs to suppress vomiting and have to go see doc in a week to see if I need more.
Have decided I will have to tell work... it doesn't look like it's going to be an easy pregnancy and I'm only 6+4 according to the scan... so... I think it's only fair to tell them really...
anyway I'm home - I'm ok and hubby is a fussy old woman :rtofl:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hi everyone:hello:
Not much to report except DD is still here, and her morning sickness has now changed to night sickness, like mine did:eek:
Candygirl make sure she keeps down enough fluid and food - if you can get her to eat bananas for the potassium even if it's only half a banana each day.
If you think she's throwing up to much then get her to the GP and get them to do a urine test to check her ketone levels... mine had gone up to ++++ by the time I went to the docs - there should be NO + at all... it's when your body starts breaking down the bodyfats to nurish itself because it's not getting enough fluid and nutrients from what you are eating.
What she DOESN'T want is a 2+ night stay in hospital like I just got out from! Lesson learnt - next time when I throw up so much I can't keep water down... go see doctor a lot quicker! :rolleyes:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

yep a type of antihistamine to suppress the vomiting
Weeks worth for now. They did say that they'd have prefered not to give em drugs at all (as would i!) but because of the severity of it they had little choice... I couldn't keep anything down long enough to get any nutrients from it which is why my ketone levels were through the roof!
My potassium levels were slightly off so they just gave me potassium enriched fluids and no extra dosages of it thankfully - strict instructions to eat at least a banana a day for now tho!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
