  • Hmmm...not convinced, would have to see one IRL.

Looking at it, does it only work if you have a middle 3 point seatbelt (not a lapbelt)?

Edited to say - not meaning to be quizzing you Emma...just asking questions (when I really should just get off my a$$ and have a look for myself!!!!

Personally I wouldn't use it , the carrycots are always slated for no protection in the event of a crash on the Which report . I love them as a carrycot but that's where it ends , a rear facing seat is proven to be more effective in a crash . just my opinion .
Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .

    Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

I think it would work ok with a lapbelt too as its the tension from the seat base that holds it in place. I didnt notice the manual saying you couldnt but will have a wee read when I get home. We found it in a big pram shop not far from us. If you could find someone that stocks them Im sure they would show you it in the car :) The Britax site lists some of their stockists (the one we saw it at wasnt on there) so might be worth seeing if you have someone near by.

I dont think your local to us as you could have come for a look if you were.

    Emma :)

I have been a which subscriber for years now and trust their reports...especially when it comes to something like this. Their last report on car seats recommended the Maxi Cosi car-seat so I am reasonably sure that that is the one I will buy in the end.

If anyone else is interested (and in true MSE fashion) I could try and scan the reports and email them to anyone who wants a copy...if they scan okay that is.

Have my 28w growth scan today....Poppy was 8lb 11.5oz at term +11 so here's hoping boys are a tad smaller! Does anyone know any OW tales?! :D.

Er, yes, but you'll be cross.....

(boys are generally sposed to be heavier, sorry)

Obviously that could just be baby brain and entirely the wrong way round..... I hope the growth scan went well :-)

Really don't feel bad about it, best laid plans and all of that, you did your best and as you say he's a contented wee soul now. I'm really glad you're both doing well :-)

I'm dehydrated and I have raised ketones in my urine which means I'm not getting enough fluid and food...

I hope your scan goes well, and I hope the trip to hospital helps you feel better. If you see this when you get back have a check out this website (if it works, it seems to be down atm), it's for women with hyperemesis gravidarum. I hope it helps :-)

  • Well, all went well at the 28w scan and yep, he is still a he!!! :D He's breach  but apparently nothing to worry about at the minute. Next one is on 4th November...

We had the Silver Cross carseat that matched the travel system from birth and now have a Britax one. DH would never entertaint he carrycot style. However, I really do think need to see them and have a fiddle yourself! :D. We love our SC 3D but another recent poster hates it so it really does come down to your own preference. (BTW, there is plenty more room left in the reins and Poppy is one in 2 weeks!).

We didn't choose an isofix one as SB babies are extremely social creatures ;):rotfl:and are taken out by grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins....so the fixed base wouldn't be practical for us.

Maxi-Cosi win all the catergories , only Britax Isofit seat beats them in the stage 2-3 seat but when you take that out of the equation they beat the same seat (non-Isofit) version . Have a look here , not as good as the full Which report but Deanos on here once posted this , http://users.aol.com/dco634/Seat%20Report%202007.pdf .... very good section right on last page about carrycots .

Keely, lovely to hear from you, glad you are both doing well.

SB-I'm so jelous you've got to see your little one again!! Glad all was good.

I had a big shop yesterday, ordered carseat and base, mattress for cot and crib, pushchair, nursery decorations and few bits and bobs yesterday on t'internet. Cant wait for it to arrive. Cant say the same about the credit card bill though  !!!

I'm gonna have a little moan since I'm on here, I'm currently 32 weeks and its starting to upset me that everyone is saying i've got a small bump and i must have a small baby. Although the MW says im measuring ok i'm worried he's gonna be really small. A girl in work is 6 weeks behind me and she's got a bigger bump, she keeps telling me my baby must be tiny and that i should ask my midwife for a growth scan as my baby is not growing as it should. Its started to worry me now, I eat healthily (most of the time) and was 6lb 10oz myself born (3weeks early). It made me cry today and I'm not usually the crying type.

Moan over, I'll prob feel fine again once MW has seen me.

Hope everyone else is ok. xxx
  • Managed a 49min bus ride to my Nan's and back without voming this morning... It was a bit iffy on the return journey but I was pleased with myself...

On another altogether horrifying subject... My wedding dress won't do up!!! My weight has not changed at all but since the morning sickness started I haven't been able to do my jeans up comfortably.... It seems everything has moved up an inch... and with the pregnancy related bussom growth... there is a gap.... Have an emergency appointment with a seamstress tonight at 8, she's going to see if she can let out the seams... I am absolutely devastated!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
