i had my 12 week scan the other week and they had to measure baby by its leg bone, today i am 13 + 6 :j oh was saying things like "omg its actually in there" and was amazed at the scan, think its hitting home abit now that he`s gonna be a first time dad at the ripe old age of 48.
have started picking up a few bits off of ebay, not gonna bother with newborn stuff as my son didn`t even fit in them years ago, have just bought some nice white unisex 0 - 3 months outfits and a few babygrows.
a few days ago we got a £475 icoo hauck buggy plus a brand new cozytoes (£35) and new raincover (£30) we won the auction for £75 and it all looks like brand new  the lady said she`d only used it 4 times  who in their right mind would pay £540 for something to use it 4 times? it looks so comfy and padded i could crawl into it myself and curl up :D also a car seat for £10
has anyone else bought baby stuff this early or am i jumping the gun abit and being abit too eager??:o
oh wants to buy all new stuff for the baby but i cant honestly see the point when i can get exactly what i want for 1/10th of the price and baby only uses it for such a short period of time...forever the mse`r me :money: :rotfl:
the pregnancy itself is now going great, have stopped feeling sick allllllll the time  and have also stopped nipping to the loo about 10 times overnight and waking oh up in the process :o (if he thinks thats bad he should try a screaming baby!!!:rotfl: ) baby has obviousely now moved off my bladder phewww, my jeans no longer fit and for the last few weeks have been heldup by a hairband over the button with long t-shirts covering the gaping hole where the zip is, my wardrobe of clothes is rapidly diminishing and i soon will be living in jogging bottoms. am really pleased how my dates have fallen, at least i wont have to struggle through a really hot summer again this time around (due march/april)
hope everyone else is doing well, i dont post often but i do read every post and you guys seem like an extended family as you are all going though the same as me at the mo.
    take care angchris xxx

Hey angchris, glad all is well, I've already said that as soon as I have my 12 weeks scan I'm gonna start buying!

Has anyone had experience of SPD in pregnancy?
Someone sugested I may be getting it because of the pain in my hips/pelvis, I read up abouit it last night and I'm pretty sure I had it with DS, I just thought it was pulled muscles in my groin last time so didnt go to the docs about it.
Is it too early for the pain to start already? My hips aren't aligned properly anyway according to an osteopath which could of been a result of DS beig stuc and pushing down on my left side of my pelvis during labour.
I'm getting quite down now, I've been up since 4am in pain with my back and hips, jst cant get comfy :(

Mine started at about 7 or 8 weeks. I deffo remember being sore very early on but I didnt realise what it was. It was just round the back of my pelvis at that point but from about 25ish weeks its been all over. It gets really bad if I walk too much as do my hips, and hips are bad in bed if I have been lying down for a bit and wake up as I think they are getting stiff from no movement maybes. If I kinda stretch a wee bit it eases up after a few minutes and I can get slightly comfy again.

Thanks for that, I'm 9 weeks tommorrw so makes sense.
I'm going to ask for a referral to physio I think, I need to do something, I go up to 31 weeks of this left!
I noticed it got bad after a long walk, then once I rested thats when the pain really kicked in.

Is anyone else getting really bad morning sickness? :( Well - morning/day/evening - it comes and goes as it pleases!
Do you know if the doctors can perscribe anything at all for it? Ginger Biscuits is just not working :( But I don't want to hassle them if there isn't anything they can give me...
Although at this rate I might have to be signed off work because I get carsick and my job involves driving from Oxford to Exeter once a week! So unless work is happy with me working from home for the time being this could get tricky :(
And still stressing about possibly miscarrying... it's giving me nightmares! Now I'm wishing I hadn't tested - just stuck to eating healthily and hoping... Then maybe I wouldn't stress this much :(

  • MrsTine - you poor thing, you need to calm down a bit. Getting yourself worked up is probably making the sickness worse. Try to think of the sickness as an indication that things are going okay and baby is settling in...

I survived it with lots of polos, water, deep breaths and grinning and bearing it. I drive for between 90 minutes and 2 hours a day and this was the worst time for me too. Have you tried travel sickness bands? They actually made me worse but I know other people swear by them.

Ginger nuts didn't do it for me either...

    Hi

Yep, it's the same for me too at the mo....I'm 8 weeks today. I've had a truly miserable weekend swaying constantly between starvation and nausea from morning to night. To top it all, I also had the mother of all headaches yesterday that I just coudn't get rid of. Luckily today I have a day off from work...I'm still in bed and have managed to eat some cereal but now I just feel awful with the nausea...

Like MFD suggests I am laid here doing some deep breathing as that does seem to help..not sure if it's just the fact that concentrating on the breathing makes you think about that rather than the fact that you are feeling sick!!!!!

I've got to go for a haircut and then I have my booking in appointment with the midwife later today so I'm hoping that I feel better by then...

Hope you start to feel a little bit better soon MrsTine...

You have my sympathy, it's horrid. The only thing that worked for me were travel sickness wrist bands, I wore them all the time and wish I had discovered them sooner. Ginger didn't work for me either!

I'd forgotten about this thread. That's pregnancy brain for you.
I'm now 26 weeks, and counting down the days until we get to meet our new baby.
She (it's a girl :D ) is a little monster already. I've been getting kicks since 13 weeks, now it's more like kick boxing. I've got carpal tunnel, an aching back, non-stop heartburn & still have morning sickness  . I get braxton hicks every time I walk more than 100 yards, & am rather fed up.

But it will be worth it! We have been given loads of pink clothes, have just ordered a new buggy, ordered a new car, extended the house (again). No 3 is very expensive :p

I am very annoyed by my ante-natal appointments so far. I've had two scans, & two midwife appointments, one of whom I could not understand. I've not heard her heartbeat, the hospital have lost my notes, I'm apparently now out of area for a homebirth (my house must have moved???), & debating if it's too late to book an independent midwife.

Congratulations to all those who have popped, & good luck to those who haven't got long to go. Am just catching up on posts...was LOL at the OH's weighing boobs...mine puts on bra cup on his head. Now they almost cover his entire head!
