As far as I know, when I had DD they had just withdrawn the weight charts from green books within our PCT because they were inaccurate and causing women to worry uneccesarily... I had a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge bump with DD, everyone kept telling me she was big and I was getting scanned fortnightly from about 30 weeks... There was talk of inducing me early etc etc... I was expecting a 12pounder... she was 8lb15oz born which I didn't think was too bad at all! (all 4 of my mom's children were over 8lb and my sisters 1st was over 8lb so it's kind of in the genes)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

My no 1 baby was 6lb 11, no 2 was 8lb 12 1/2 oz so there was a huge difference. DS1 who is the no 2 baby was scanned monthly cos for length he was off the top of the growth centile. Compared to DD he looked like a little bruiser as a baby but 8lb odd is not huge looking at the population as an average.
i think if i'd have known he was 2lb heavier than DD I would have panicked but I had both of them without pain relief;)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I only had gas and air with DD but don't think it made any difference at all... I'm going to try for no pin relief this time... And I am expecting a big one this time... My sisters 2nd was nearly 10lb and she's only 5' tall!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Lol Sarah, As the baby gets bigger and learns what it is doing it gets more efficient at 'milking' you so it tends to take shorter feeds and spaces them out a little... But the thing to remember is a babies stomach is about the size of it's fist... ie very small... and because breast milk is the perfect nutrition it is very easily digested so those tiny tummies get emptied quicker with breast milk whereas they can go a bit longer with formula because it tends to just sit there being quite difficult to digest...
There's no definitve answer to when they space their feeds out though... But if you think about how often you have a drink... Grab a snack... Have a meal... Do you wait 4 hours in between? I know I don't!!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... THanks.Yep it makes sense, just when you have an ex OH who was stoned or not v nice when the baby cried formula was an easy option rather than a cop out! But i still feel a bit of regret about not persevering.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Hello Ladies.
Krystaltips - is it next Saturday you get married? You must give us the low down on the plans! How exciting!!
r.mac - you will have to summarise the book for us all so we don't have to buy our own copy!
I think I felt bubba kicking for the first time yesterday...like little bubbles (when they move past you in water) or really light tapping. It was really quick though
I cried (of course!)
Nothing since though...although my firend had already warned me that you only feel it occasionally at first. Can't wait to feel it again :Tplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Ooh, how exciting MFD! I can remember one of the first times I felt DD move, I was recovering a chair and everytime the staple gun went off she must of jumped lol.
Yep next sat is the big day, pretty much everything is done now, just a couple of place cards to do and a bead to sew on my veil... We have the rehearsal on Thursday and my hen night... Half the people there will know about the baby, half won't so should be an interesting night... OH had his stag do last night and is currently sleeping it off in the arm chair!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Remind me when you are due Krystaltips - I can't see you on the last list...although it could well be my baby-brain playing tricks on me!
Some of the new babies need moving over too (keely and lola off the top of my head) but I will leave that to SeptemberBaby because she is best at it!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
For those of you who have fundal height measurements in your notes but not a chart, you can do your own personalised chart here http://www.gestation.net/fetal_growth/fetal_growth.htm
(it was mentioned in my notes about it)
I have heard though that fundal height doesn't necessarily accurately predict the baby's weight, as it can depend on the amount of fluid0
