My DD is 13 weeks tomoz, has recently split with her bf and come to live with me.She is very up and down emotionally, and can't believe the relationship has ended as he was the one who wanted the baby in the first place.I think he liked the idea of a perfect family, but couldn't cope with the responsibility and financial side of things:rolleyes:
She is safe and comfy here, but is feeling very isolated and depressed, as her good time party freinds are nowhere to be seen now.I am at a loss what to do, as am also helping to nurse my Dad who's dying of cancer:(

Hi Candy, glad you have come back to us! ;)

Your poor DD. I really feel for you both. Has the bf been in touch at all? Hope you are all ok and your Dad is comfortable. I can't imagine the stress you are under but I hope you are getting some time out just for you.

Take good care of yourself (and thats an order!).

  • Hi everyone.

Sorry for the self pitying posts last night. I woke up this morning and said to hubby that I would ring SIL today and ask if I could be cheeky and go over to theirs tonight (thinking I was sure that she would understand - having had 2 kids of her own). Hubby said that we couldn't do that and we will have to pick them up and take them out for something to eat instead.

I am halfway between being angry that he can drop something on me but we couldn't possibly do it to SIL (who isn't at work today!!) and just can't be bothered enough to care.

Anyway - it's nice to know that there is support to have a moan to when needed - thank you.

Went to see the midwife this morning and heard the baby's heartbeat :T I think that worrying about that (even if I didn't really know I was) contributed to all my tears last night.

All seems well although I have had an abnormal result for HCT (I think) which the midwife didn't seem to think was anything to worry about despite it saying **ABNORMAL** on the screen! It's something to do with my red blood cells I think.

I am covered in spots too - one in particular I think may end up as a scar because it has now has about 5 spots in the same place. I am far from blooming!

    Thanks hun:)
Yea he came round for a "talk" last week, but only lasted 5 mins before he ran off again[STRIKE]literally[/STRIKE]  I wouldn't mind but he is 26 !!!!!!!!!  As soon as he realised they couldnt stay in his safe little 1 bed flat forever he changed totally:rolleyes: DD is working, he is and they would've easily afforded the house they signed up for, but sadly he has been brought up to believe that money is god sooooooooo
There were other issues that meant if she stayed with him her life would have been hell, but she's feeling v lonely and down, and my support isn't enough at the mo:(
    Hope you're ok hun:A

  • Hi Candygirl.

Have you encouraged her to join an internet mums-to-be forum for a bit of company / baby reassurance? I would be lost without having a chat on here and hearing what others are up to...certainly reminds you that you are not alone.

I am also going to start going to Aqua Natal Classes next week so I can meet some more expectant mums in the area, my hubbys family are here but we only moved here a year ago so I don't have any friends of my own locally. Even if I did (I do get on with hubby's family - honest!!) then I think it would be good to meet people who are going through the same thing and will also have kids of the same age come March next year!

Is there anything locally that DD can get involved in?

Candygirl, it's worthwhile your dd looking up the local children's centre, there should be lots for her to do there with the baby once s/he's born but also they do run stuff for pregnant women. Mine has a yoga class which I've gone to almost every week since 22 weeks. I know other ones offer different things so they're worthwhile registering with to meet other mums, but also they offer extra support if you need it :-)

Thanks for the ideas hun, it's a shame you don't live nearer as you're due at a similar time as her:o :A

I'm 26 weeks tomorrow with my first baby which we found out is a girl. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and picking up some good tips!

  • hello everyone,

I had my scan yesterday and it was AMAZING! The baby was in a great position and we could see him/her moving around! He/She was even sucking their thumb! My OH was absolutely blown away. He thought it was the most incredible experience. So, now that I feel relieved that everything is good and I have a EDD, I'm now adding myself to the list! Hooray! I'm officially 14 weeks today!

I am panicking daily about miscarriage too... I am so scared of loosing this precious little bean - almost because it was too easy to concieve - it's like it was too easy so I'm not going to be able to keep it? :( It's horrible...
Thankfully DH and my friends are all VERY supportive :) I'd be stuffed without them :)

dont worry mrstine i think everyone goes through this stage, i think once you have a scan and get to see the wee one that your mind is eased!

well i went buggy testing today and had my heart on the icandy but trying it out and getting to take it apart and put it together again i was really disappointed:confused: you had to take every part off and then fold it and i was thinking about 2 screaming kids, pouring rain and me sitting at back of the car trying to get it all unclipped folded and in the car. tried and tested evry double on the market and TBH i was not really impressed with any!

Looks like i am getting a phil and teds as it was the only one i liked pushing around and was easy to fold, put up and i like the idea that i can still use it when DS2 starts walking!!
