we all know how it feels to be waiting for the scans. my first at 12 weeks seemed to take ages to arrive, but now i am a week and a bit away from hearing my baby's heartbeat for the first time (16 weeks).

Ok, Ladies I need some help.

Where is the best place to get Maternity clothes that don't break the bank, my wife's on the verge of tears as she can't find anything the ranges are just so poor, she's tried Mothercare, Dotty P's, New Look and she just can't find anything she says she doesn't want to spend £30 on just one pair of trousers etc.

    HELP PLEASE

Help is on its way! :rotfl:

I think it was the lovely Fritha that recommended Peacocks. Here's the link:

They are really reasonable and have some lovely items. Its not somewhere I would ever have thought of looking before but I hope she finds a few things she likes :D.

I remember her post and had a look......they are so reasonably priced don't you think? Fortunately for me all my maternity stuff didn't have a chance to go into storage and was still hanging in my wardrobe :rotfl:.

When do you first see a midwife???

It really depends on where you live. I made an appointment with my MW as soon as I found out I was preg (didn't see Dr at all). She 'put me in the system' and we had a general chat. In my area booking-in and scans are done at the time in the antenatal unit around the 12w mark.

If you are unsure of your dates, some MW's will refer you for an early scan. Hope yours does!

ETA: Just read that you're already booked in for a scan! I would call your surgery and ask for the MW to give you a call.

I thought they are all lovely things on there. Not sure an 18 would fit me though, actually i dont think it would even though i have lost weight whilst being pregnant (9 pounds now since the start of last month).

going to have to start looking for things myself soon. need smart stuff for work and then some weekend tops too.

    Hey Jamz

I agree with Peacocks i got some great bargins!. Mite also be worth a look in H&M however a warning i loved everything!! Not sure if they still do a range in other areas of George @Asda's but they were my lifeline with my first pregnancy, i raced back this time around to find they no longer stock a mat range near me - i cried!

  • I'd lost 5 stone before I got pregnant with DD so got 1 pair of maternity trousers for christmas off my dad and wore them to death with all the tops I'd shrunk out of before... I loved the maternity trousers because they pulled up over the top of my bump and gave it a lovely round shape... My stretchy normal trousers just made me look fat... I'm going to look on eBay once I can't do my jeans up... Although with the morning sickness I can't stand them done up anyway at the moment.

Anyone else due in May getting morning sickness? 2 people have told me so far that it's a bit early to be getting it now... (5 1/2 weeks) But I had it right from day 1 with DD...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
