Well a quick phonecall to the wife tells me she's tried both George and Peacocks but they don't stock maternity ranges :(

We may have to resort to online only!

Can i join please as a new firstie...

I have been reading but not joining for the past three weeks, as soon as I found out, but have had a such a nightmare of it didn't want to jinx anything.
But have had my 2nd scan this morning and have a very normal 8+1 bub.( am crying with excitement writing this, I'm such a girl...:p:p) and am very very happy:j:j

BTW - I love peacocks stuff as well as they seem to fit me perfectly, but haven't looked @ maternity clothes there yet. Not sure if anything will fit me perfectly ever again though reading some stories...

It really depends on where you live. I made an appointment with my MW as soon as I found out I was preg (didn't see Dr at all). She 'put me in the system' and we had a general chat. In my area booking-in and scans are done at the time in the antenatal unit around the 12w mark.

If you are unsure of your dates, some MW's will refer you for an early scan. Hope yours does!

ETA: Just read that you're already booked in for a scan! I would call your surgery and ask for the MW to give you a call.

    Thanks

I live in Milton Keynes and its our first baby so I really don't have a clue!! I will give surgery a call after scan just so I know I really am pregnant!

Afterthought: can someone please explain the 8+1 or 6+4 thing to me - what does this mean?

I'd lost 5 stone before I got pregnant with DD so got 1 pair of maternity trousers for christmas off my dad and wore them to death with all the tops I'd shrunk out of before... I loved the maternity trousers because they pulled up over the top of my bump and gave it a lovely round shape... My stretchy normal trousers just made me look fat... I'm going to look on eBay once I can't do my jeans up... Although with the morning sickness I can't stand them done up anyway at the moment.

Anyone else due in May getting morning sickness? 2 people have told me so far that it's a bit early to be getting it now... (5 1/2 weeks) But I had it right from day 1 with DD...

i'm not due in May (march for me) but i did have morning sickness from about 5 or 6 weeks. i was never physically sick (well not until yesterday but that was through all my coughing with my cold) and felt it constantly. i think everyone is different.

ooohhh noticed your signature.....congrats on your impending wedding!!!! and loving the breast support thing, might be calling on your help when i get closer to the due date :D

these figures show how far along you are. say 8+1, that means 8 weeks and 1 day.

i am currently 14+6, so for me i am 14 weeks and 6 days.

    :D

wow, i love it that i know the answers to some questions now
  • I got some stuff in the Next sale - and luckily enough they are having another sale on Saturday 27th September if she can hold out another week?

I am washing and wearing 1 pair of work trousers at the moment in anticipation of there being lots of stuff in my size
