angelfairy wrote: »well to be honest i am not 100% sure if I am due on 13 or 14 March.
when i first told the doc and gave him my dates etc, he said 14 March. when i went to th midwife and did the same she told me 13 march (which freaked me out because i do not like friday the 13th AT all). when i had my 12 week scan, the sonographer said 'your dates haven't changed', but on the screen it said 14 march, but the she didn't change my card or notes.
so now, i say 13 or 14 march (secretly hoping is just not 13 march), and please do not be offended because it's your DD's birthday, it's just the friday the 13th that SCARES me
My due date was originally the 9th March then it changed to 12th March and I went into labour that night and DD was born on 13th... It's quite rare a baby being born on their due date anyway so try not to worry about it... re. Peacocks Mat clothes i found their sizing on the big side so their size 10s fell down on me and still do at 39+weeks! but i was a size 8 beforehand.
Try additions online, or else NCT sales, freecycle, put a wanted ad on Netmums.
I found over the bump jeans to be totally USELESS but i think if you have a bit more padding than I did they may stay up!
You WILL buy things you never wear, and there will be one or two pairs of trousers you wear all the time, I guarantee it!
I have bought a couple of maternity tops but i found that normal t shirts from m& s sale have been fine just look for longer length stuff, also they will be useful for after the birth then too when you are breastfeeding.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I've bought most of my wardrobe from ebay though and have got so much great stuff for a fairly small amount of money - particulary great for me as I'm only 5ft tall and can't easily buy trousers from a lot of the high st maternity stores.
I'm a bit miserable today because I've been having discomfort and pain in my lower pelvis and the doctor has said it's SPD and told me to speak to my midwife about physio. Does anyone have any tips for making it more bearable?Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Congratulations Keeley!
Who organised the chiropractor Sarah? Did the doctor organise it or did you go privately? I really suffered with DD and the only words of wisom I got from the midwife were... It will get worse before it gets better.... Thanks for that! I'm dreading having it this time round but hoping for more support now, and a different midwife!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... if you contact your maternity hospital they can refer you onto their homeopathic clinic, i had reflexology which eased SPD a lot and it was free through the hospital. i was told to put a pillow between my knees at night, not to cross my legs,or sit scrunched up on seatee. get up and down slowly and the biggeswt no no was to carry a car seat after baby is born as it will not let your pelvis heal! oh while i remember by a birthing ball they are much better for sitting on and for getting up and down!
good luck hope you get somewhere!!What's for you won't go past you0 -
thanks girls xx Must admit i might look less bedraggled than i thought i would after labour, but i was totally spaced out on another planet! All the midwives thought i was mental aswell because even though i'd been in hospital in slow'ish text-book early labour since 10.30 the previous day, i'd made sure i still had a bit of makeup on and a nice dress on for the pics (that ended up caked in blood and gunk obv lol) instead of a skanky old nightie like all the books tell you to!
Anyway, like i mentioned, id spent the previous 2 weeks trying absolutely EVERY old wives tale to evict the poor mite as id totally had enough of pregnancy... and it was doing the deed that finally made him arrive. The night following DTD was filled with me feeling like i was getting the flu.... had a blood loss the next morning, hospital called me in to check me over at 10.30am... luckily i was the last person let in before they shut the whole maternity service to new arrivals (as frequently happens)... they ummed and arred after some unpleasant but neccessary examinations, and decided to keep me in overnight, which was quite unheard of, esp at their "busiest day EVER" i was placed in the post-natal ward which was being used as an overspill (a bit mean on new mums to be surrounded by people in labour) i lay on a bed all day waiting for my husband to be sent home... had a bloody show (yukkkk) at about 2ish, which i was relieved to see. Thought it could be weeks yet til proper labour...so lay there thinking all these what-if's and all of a sudden my waters completely POPPED, loudly and fast lol. Told baby was back to back so i had to get walking.... walked myself into quick horrible contractions, DH sent home due to visiting hours, grr, started getting horrendous contractions, and couldnt be offered pain relief because i was on the wrong ward! They basically unavoidably ignored me for a few hours til they forced me to lie down on a monitor, which was so horrible to be so restricted, that it gave me severe body tremors with each contraction which were now every 3 mins...they didnt believe me until they saw it on the chart, followed by discovering i was 4cm dilated. Rushed to delivery and DH called, had to have a crap side room that wasnt even meant for delivery... used gas and air for as long as possible - about an hour before it got too bad, so had Pethadine and climbed over the back of the bed (was previously squatting on the floor lol)... thats when the super super pain started, immediately and contractions were back to back and lonnnnng. MW then discovered that even though i had been leaking ridiculous amounts of waters for hours, my forewaters hadnt even broke, just my hind ones.... i was also 8.5cm by this point in the space of about 90 mins. The rest is a bit of a blur. I have never felt pain like it and i honestly thought i was going to die lol. MW had her hand stuffed in my mouth because of the ludicrous amount of noise i was making lol... she popped my waters (again!) and after a lot of almost deadly pushing causing 2 bad tears needing stitches (which also hurt, a lot lol), and grazes, out he came with the cord wrapped round his neck twice. MW said it was the longest cord she'd seen lol. He immediately let me know he was ok by peeing all over me lol.
Oh god, ive waffled a bit there, and major TMI alert overload lol!
Anyway, although i thought it was horrific, he's totally worth it. I've spoke to an awful lot of people who just think i was a bit unlucky with the pain side of things... apparently it's never normally that bad... maybe im just incredibly soft!
ive enjoyed being part of this thread over the months and will continue to lurk to see how you all get on. Good luck girls! xx0
