  • morning all,

r.mac - i too am wondering how keeley is feeling today!!! oh, in your signature i see your a 'wooligan'. i can knit, but only the basics and not brilliant at that. seem to get a bee in my bonnet about it and start but then never finish. i have asked my nan to make me one of her famous shawls for bubs but was thinking i would like to make a simple blanket myself. must find a very very very easy patten online for myself.

still have this flippin cold, admittedly it only really hit sunday night, but it is more than welcome to leave me alone now. had enough. not eating much becuase i just don't feel like it. enjoying some grapes though which is nice.

    hope everyone else is okay.
  • Hi, Girls

    Re Breastfeeding.

I breast fed my daughter till she was 10 months, i did find it difficult at the beginning as its not easy, you both need to learn how to do it! I found my friends gave upto easy and didnt give it a proper go but you have to do what is best for you at the end of the day.

Night feeding is so much easier when you can just get baby and sit up in your nice warm bed without having to go downstairs and wait for the kettle to boil. As for feeding in public, You will find there are lots of places you never knew exsisted where you can go and feed baby. My local mothercare was a godsend as it had a feeding room with lovely comfy chairs where you could just sit and feed. also the shopping centre has a little room. John lewis has an area in the babychanging room and you will find lots of other places. But to be honest, when that baby is screeming its heart out you just dont care our comes the boob and your away! i never got any comments from other people and im not a small lady beleive me so managed to feed discreatly.

Its also Cheaper, have you seen how much formula is.... oh my god add two of them to your weekly shopping bill! and there is none of that steralising business to do with breastfeeding.

Its the most natural thing in the world to do, i never thought id be able to do it in front of all my family but you and they just get used to it.

My advise would be to try and get as much help from the hospital when your in there, dont let other people influence you to stop unless YOU think its best for you and baby. At best breast feed for the first few days so baby gets all the good stuff inside it.

Im hoping to breastfeed this one as long as i can but if it doesnt work out im not going to beat myself up about it.

GOOD LUCK to you all with it, its a great bonding experience

Thanks to all about your comments about staying in hospital overnight. At the antenatal class yesterday the midwife said they prefer if you stay at least one night but can get an early discharge if you want to. You can come back in again to get the hearing test etc done so I suppose I will just need to see how I feel about it at the time, and the same with the breast feeding in public thing!

thanks Angelfairy - I've ordered mine too.

Was very excited last night as FINALLY, hubbie saw my tummy move when little bump kicked!!!! He was thoroughly underwhelmed and just wanted to know if that meant time would hurry up now :rotfl: it's taking forever :D

wow, how exciting!!!!! your hubby is a typical man like my hubby then :D

i was hoping that when things like that start happening, he will then start to feel more involved because he can see what is happening etc.

though he has been good lately and giving me a kiss when he picks me up from work and then kissing his hand and putting it on my belly for bubs.
