My sister was the first to know-she knew before id even taken the test!
luckily my mom wasnt upset that i didnt tell her untill id had my first scan. Some people may wonder why i told my sister before my mom, but it was just how things worked out and i knew she'd keep quiet unlike my mom who'd not be able to control herself! i felt happier telling people once id had the 12 week scan.
It was the longest 12 weeks ever though!
Congrats btw!
that's exactly why my sister knew before my mumr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Ladies who had your scans yesterday i'm so glad everythings fine with you both:)
I'm going with DD for hers next Friday, as he BF doesn't get paid if he goes:rolleyes:  I'm happy to go, but feel it's his place really but he works for a small firm sooo.....;)
I was the 1st person to know DD was preg, after her BF.It's a Mum thing to want to know first, but I am very close with DD as she's my only 1, so she had no siblings to tell anyway:o
She's currently 11 weeks preg and is very very sick and starting work at 7am, so is trying to get new shifts today:)"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

its so funny how people expect to be told first eh! we kept things quiet and only told our parents, TBH we still havent told many people and im 16+3. the main reason for me is that this was a shock and i hate the fact that people look at me funny and say this is no 5. OH and myself do everything ourselves have neve asked anyone for help or rely on anyone so why do people make it seem like such a problem??? i must include that we are only 24 and 25 and had our first at 16. but hey they are great well mannered kids i know i could take them out anywhere and do anything!
sorry rant over think these hormones are getting the better of me, have just moved from a town to village and its a bit lonely no one talks and i dont know anyone?? well am away to pick DD up and then eat the left over indian curry from last night, terrible i know but hey im pregnant pmsl:P:P(anyone want some think theres enough for about 3!)What's for you won't go past you0 -
Well, we told the world and his dog with my first preg but then had a m/c at 10w so unfortunately for us the excitement and sheer joy of subsequent pregnancies has been marred ever since (until the 12w scan of course!
). If you could have seen my Mum's face when we told her the sad news
then you would know exactly why we kept things under wraps until we have seen our babies on screen
. Immediately after both first scans we have visited my parents and shared our news which helps clear my conscience for the 8 or so weeks of deception :rotfl:.
I have two sisters but wouldn't have told either even though we are extremely close. They don't want to know that this baby is a boy in case they slip up and tell Mum who really wants it to be a surprise.

I think everyone's situations are different regarding who tells who when and why.I got preg very easily with DD,but had 2 pregs after and sadly 2 miscarriages and could never concieve again due to severe endometriosis, that led to a very early hysterectomy:(
DD also has endo, though mild at the mo so was advised to have her kids earlier than later. She was trying for a baby, and I knew about it, so was delighted to hear the news early on.She is still only 11 weeks tho, so I am worried sick about the risk of MC still:(
I didn't think it was my right to know early, but was delighted she wanted to let me know then:) I also hope she has the chance to have more kids if she chooses, and the endo doesn't prevent this:o
SB I am sorry you have also had a MC, it's awful isn't it hun:("You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hi All
Well we are back from Legoland, which we all found was a real let-down and would never go again!!!
I am now 12+6, I am still feeling very tired though. I work two full days each week and yesterday, after coming home I went to bed at 8pm (after putting ds2 to bed) then woke at 9pm to put ds1 in bed....then went back to bed till 10.30pm. I was absolutely exhausted!!!
I was thinking of working up until 4wks before but how I feel at the moment I will probably have to stop sooner than that..
On the plus side, we have an action plan. We have finally decided where everything is going from the study so we are going to clear the room by christmas and paint it. Then straight after christmas, well probably in the Januaty Sales, we will buy cot etc and it can all go straight into the baby room hehe...
Hope everyone and their bumps are well

I planning to work until two weeks before. Am I mad? Plus side is that I can work from home if I need to so wouldnt need to travel at all. Suppose I will just need to see how things go.

im 10 weeks today!! :j actually the time seems to be whizzing past since i found out about baby, lets hope the next 30 weeks goes as quick
i have however been having a total nightmare i am in so much pain its unreal, i suffer from something called trigeminal neuralgia http://www.neurosurgerytoday.org/what/patient_e/trigeminal.asp and should be on epilepsy tablets to stop the excrutiating pain but due to baby i have not taken any tablets at all because im so scared it will hurt baby so im suffering just a tad  oh and i tried for this baby for 5 years so it is really precious to us and i at least want to get over the 12 week hurdle before i go back to docs, have been investigating getting a tens machine for both baby and my face.
ho hum... sorry to moanits just i feel i have no one to talk to, i dont know anyone else that suffers with trigeminal neuralgia let alone be pregnant as well.
i have to do what i have to do to ensure this baby is born fit and healthy if it means me being in pain for the next 6 1/2 months then so be it its something i am willing to do short term for the long term fabulous gain of having a much wanted child. i am not willing to give up my hopes and dreams to this illness and at age 35 it is something i need to get on and do now because my childbearing years are slowly slipping away.proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -
with DS1 I moved house when I was very early pregnant so gave up work very early on so wasnt an issue however with DS2 I worked until 37 weeks. This wasnt really a problem as my OH worked at the same place then so could ferry me around. However this time around I am thinking of going on maternity leave much sooner as OH no longer works with me so I have to walk an approx 45 minutes to and from work everyday which makes it a much longer day and I am not sure I could manage it at the end. I am planning at the moment to go on materity leave at 35 weeks but we will see.0

If I could work from home I would probably work up to going into labour hehe..
However, I have to stand on my feet for 9hrs, with barely an hour for lunch and no breaks!!!
Hmm I think I will just see how things go for now.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
