I'm 16+6 and have only bought 1 baby gro and a bottle steriliser so far and got a baby monitor courtesy of a lovely DFW buddy. Mum reckons I should be test driving prams by now but I just get overwhelmed by the choice - and the cost:eek: . Any reviews i've read seem to contradict each other so that hasn't helped...
Feeling a bit glum as I think I'm going to have to take my wedding and engagement rings off as my fingers are a bit puffy. Seems a silly thing to get down about but i hate even taking them off for the washing up so 6 months without them seem unbearable:o
Im 29 weeks now and we went pram shopping at the weekend. Had been looking online for a while but decided it was really time that we picked something. When I told the lady in the shop that I had 2.5 months to go she panicked and said we better order now as it takes about 2 months to get them in! Needless to say we didnt order from there as it was too expensive anyways but we found the one we wanted online cheaper and its getting delivered on Friday.
My engagement ring went weeks ago and I think I am going to have to give in on the Wedding ring now as its sometimes quite uncomfortable.

I had to forgo putting my wedding ring on a little while ago as it finally got uncomfortable. My tip is to send DH out to Argos and make him buy a nice cheap ring in a bigger size so you can still wear something from him even if it's not the original! By doing that I've managed to get to 36 weeks before having to take my ring off permanently!
r mac, if it helps as I say I'm 36 weeks now and despite the enormous tummy (which I still don't beleieve actually looks like a baby bump!) which tries to break my ribs, gets hiccups and dances to Metallica, I STILL don't feel pregnant! You'd like the cot and things would give it away but I just can't help feeling I've come over all 'hand that rocks the cradle' eeep! ;-)
Keely, any news? Hows your bp doing? Any updates on what they're going to do at your 38 week check? (I seem to recall you said Mr Keely was panicing they were going to keep you in and induce you)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

Hi Frithaso far it's behaving, i have my review with the consultant next week on tuesday. Ive been getting really achey and have increased disharge (sorry if tmi) so im hoping these are good signs that things are progressing. Baby is 3/5 engaged-so thats going in right direction. As i thought baby has turned around slightly, i was woken up by baby giving me a really painful kick and shuffle the one night. The midwife confirmed baby has indeed moved, but is still in the correct position (head down, bum is sticking out in front-so not back to back as i worried about).
Im yet to find out tuesday whats going to happen next

Hello Ladies,
Hi Shellsuit, nice to have you on board. I posted on you thread in The Arms and was hoping you could come across and join us.
My 12 week scan went well today. The sonographer put me at 12+3, which makes my due date 14.03.08 (not friday, 13th now....woobloodyhoo)
The baby's neck measurement was 'normal', but she said she couldn't give me a confirmed result becuase of the bloods having to be taken as well to get the actual figure.
Was just amazing seeing the picture on a screen that was being taken from inside me. I couldnt really grasp that I was looking at hubby's and my baby, not just a picture of someone elses.
The heartbeat was going strong. Hubby spotted that before the sonographer pointed it out.
Overall, very very happy to have seen our first baby.
Hope everyone else is well today and I will stop rabbiting now.0 -
How's your bump coming along?
Glad it's all going well for you Keely :-) I still have perfect wee and bp *bristles with pride*, but still have a baby that refuses to stick her !!!! out! She heading in the right direction, she's still head down but now rather than back to back she's looking sideways! I suspect she may have moved position in the waiting room, either she was trying to get in the right place before she was checked or, since it wasn't my usual midwife, she didn't want to behave for that one!
I dragged myself out swimming very early Sunday morning in the hope that would tip her the rest of the way but I think I just enraged her! I had really rather achy ribs, more heartburn than usual and I couldn't stop bloody peeing! lol
I hope it all goes smoothly for you on Tuesday Keely, you're only sposed to be a week ahead of me don't scare me by beating me by too much! Especially since I suspect I'll be follwing SB's example and going very overdue!
AF, glad your scan went well, I had the same issue I just couldn't beleive it wasn't a video on the screen, I think the sonographer thought I'd lost the plot! ;-)
Oh and I forgot to say, congratulations Shellsuit!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
AF pleased to hear the scan went ok. Have you 'got' to have the blood tests? I guess you mean the downs screening, I didn't with any of my (4) pregancies.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

So glad all went well today, angelfairy!!! :T
Any news from Millies Mum?
Welcome and congrats, Shellsuit!
I had to take my wedding ring off during the latter stage of my preg with Poppy and I was distraught!. I think I'll follow Fritha's tip this time. Thanks, Fritha!
. *scurries off to check out argos.co.uk*. ETA: I've found one for £12.99!!!
Oh, and I remember my excitement last year as it turned 1st September!! Little did I know that my little cherub wouldn't be evicted until the following month! :rotfl:.
Sarah, I didn't have the tests either. DH and I discussed it at length and decided that we wouldn't have an amnio anyway due the m/c risks. I was initially worried due to my age (33 when I conceived and 34 when I gave birth) but the MW's kept telling me I was a mere 'spring chicken' :T :rotfl:. Well, it made me feel fabulous at the time!.
And just in case any ladies didn't know, Sainsbury's currently have 1/3rd off baby items until Thurs I think so a pack of Huggies size 1 are just £2.49. Print off the voucher from HERE and get a free Mum & Baby Bundle with your Nectar card when you buy a pack. I collected mine today and it is fab! I also had a £2 Huggies MOC so only spent the grand sum of 49p! I tend to get all the offers and points I can which are usually only on size 1 but my local Asda lets me swap for bigger sizes without a receipt.

Hello ladies, do you mind if I join in?!
I found out yesterday that I'm expecting!
I already have 2 children, my son is 12 and my daughter is 10 and seeing as it's been so long since I had my daughter, I've forgotten everything relating to pregnancy and babies, so I'm glad this thread is here so I can ask for some help [strike]every 5 minutes[/strike] if I need it
I've got my 1st hospital appointment on the 10th October (day after we get home from holiday, hooray! lol)....what will happen there? I'll only be 10 weeks gone, so too early for a scan I guess?
Shell xx
If you know how far you are then they will probably book you in for a scan whe you are 12 weeks!
OMFG, Congratulations!
Your like 2 weeks behind meLove it!
I've got my 12 week scan on the 14th October x:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Morning all
Glad to hear everything went OK Angelfairy, so did mine so we can both calm down and stop worrying now!
Scan went fine and confirmed date as 7 March which is what i thought, we saw the consultant because I had an emergency C-section last time so I am 'High Risk' this time, Consultant asked me what I want to do this time do I want an Elective? I wasn't quite ready for that question! so we agreed he will see me again at 37 weeks to make the decision, Has anyone had a VBAC, or decided to have a VBAC this time? (Vaginal Birth After Caesarian) How did you decide?
Millie rang round everyone last night and told them at first she was saying 'mums got a baby' which made it sound like I'd found one under a mulberry bush, then we got her to say I'm going to be a big sister which was a bit better!
Everyone was really excited except my mum who is sulking because she found out that my sister has known since 6 weeks 'Its just us you didn't want to tell is it?' She is not going to upset me though, if she can't behave like an adult instead of a spoilt child why should i treat her like one! In fact I'm dying to let slip that my hairdresser has known since 5 weeks! (he was colouring my hair and i didn;t want to end up green or something, plus telling your hairdresser is like being in confession isn't it?)MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -

My sister was the first to know-she knew before id even taken the test!luckily my mom wasnt upset that i didnt tell her untill id had my first scan. Some people may wonder why i told my sister before my mom, but it was just how things worked out and i knew she'd keep quiet unlike my mom who'd not be able to control herself! i felt happier telling people once id had the 12 week scan.
It was the longest 12 weeks ever though!
Congrats btw!Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0
