What scans are you meant to get on the NHS? I just got the letter from my midwife, and the "about your scans" leaflet said that you only get one scan at 10-14 weeks (mine's at week 15 :-( ... ), unless something's wrong/complicated... but all of you seem to talk about the early scan and the 20 week scan...?

Also, I only have my booking in apt. at 16 weeks-- seems a bit late, but maybe they're busy in my area? Or maybe they think we're low-risk since we were actually trying, I was taking folic acid already and have never smoked, etc...? (and the doc did do the height, weight, blood pressure, etc thing when I first went in to confirm the pregnancy...)

Hi Hun,

Your booking appointment might be a bit later if you've had all those things done at docs.
When we went to get our confirmation all the GP told me was Congratulations and told DH "Well Done":rotfl:
We didnt have any checks at all so I think thats what we're now having.
Our booking in appointment is tomorrow and due to last an hour, I presume this is for plenty of poking and prodding :eek:
We're at 10 weeks, and I presume after tomorrow we'll get a letter about a scan date.
Took 3 weeks to get a call for booking appointment as well... must be lots of people all the same stages all at the same time

Morning all,

12 weeks for me today eek :eek: .

i have my scan next week which hubby and i are excited about.

i am so hoping the sickness passes soon as it is really getting to me. i have felt constantly sick (moving from morning to through the day to night), so i hope it doesn't carry on for too much longer, although i know it can.

quite teary today for some reason. hubby works nights so feel quite lonely at night, and i think that carries through to the morning. hopefully i will feel better when i speak to him (either that or will burst into tears when i do speak to him).

i got my magazine and vouchers from the boots parenting club. it is the first one that i have signed up to so far. like the few changing bag when you buy a pack of nappies. my vouchers run out on 31.12.2008 so i have some time before i need to make use of them.

lost another 2lbs this week too. That is pretty much now 2lbs every week for the last three weeks. i am not trying to diet, just with feeling sick, not eating as much as i normally do. really want to start uping the vegetables, so hopefully i can do that if the sickness eases off a bit.

hope everyone else is feeling well and welcome to the newbies.

Hope you feel a bit better after seeing the hubby.

Do you have a sense of relief today knowing that its 12 weeks?
I think I'll be a bit emotional if we get to 12 weeks... as it feels like a milestone?

As for vegetables and feeling ill, I found I can manage a well cooked vegetable stew without feeling too yucky, mainly because after a certain point they all start to taste the same...
Or, even though not veggies, smoothies I've found pretty good... long as you're not having a gag reflex when eating...

Anyway hope you feel better and have a great day

We've got our booking in appointment at 11am so better get some shoes on and dry my hair... am actually a bit nervous. Not sure why... probs because I have no idea what to expect.... with the appointment or with the pregnancy, glad DH will be with me though as I think he needs this more than I do LOL

I've graduated from the TTC to EDD list. Had a positive test yesterday and it'll still sinking in! I'll have two children under the age of 2 for a few months, now that scares me already!!
