  • Hi everyone, mind if I join in?
I am actually 38+2 so due very soon but although I have been reading this thread for months I am quite shy:o .
I am booked in for a homebirth and this is my third baby so I am hoping everything will be plain sailing. I do have a very supportive set of midwives though so count myself very lucky.

Could someone add me to the list please, my EDD is 8th September.
    Thanks

    Jenn
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals :p

    Morning AM,

So pleased with your news. That must have been amazing to hear a heartbeat for reassurance. I was at the docs last night and confirmed that i see him at 16 weeks for the heartbeat. hubby and i are looking forward to that (as well as the 12 week scan next week).

    Take care
Does the 12 week scan not show the heart ?or do you mean youre gonna be able to listen to the hearbeat?i'm confused:o

slscarborough - Not long to wait now then!!

Jenn - good luck on the home birth,it is somethng that keeps crossing my mind to do, although still need to be reassured about the midwives being fully equipt for any problems...

cazscoob - I had a feeling both my others were boys and was right!! i have a feeling this is a girl, but not sure yet.

I dont think you can hear the heart at 12 weeks but you can see something of baby, then at 16 weeks, bit more formed and then I think you can hear the heart beat....

But I have no idea... just a guess :rotfl:
Got my first appointment with midwife tomorrow, and am out shopping today with my mum to see if there are any baby bargains to be had :T

You can see the tiny heartbeat on the 12 week scan, but you first usually listen to the heartbeat with a doppler when visiting the midwife at approx 16 weeks. and then each time you see the midwife after that she should get the doppler out for you to listen.

Candygirl, re heartbeat, i agree with the posts above mine. i think you can hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks, but it is much stronger at 16 weeks.
