    Morning Angel,

Hope you feel a bit better after seeing the hubby.

Do you have a sense of relief today knowing that its 12 weeks?
I think I'll be a bit emotional if we get to 12 weeks... as it feels like a milestone?

As for vegetables and feeling ill, I found I can manage a well cooked vegetable stew without feeling too yucky, mainly because after a certain point they all start to taste the same...
Or, even though not veggies, smoothies I've found pretty good... long as you're not having a gag reflex when eating...

Anyway hope you feel better and have a great day

We've got our booking in appointment at 11am so better get some shoes on and dry my hair... am actually a bit nervous. Not sure why... probs because I have no idea what to expect.... with the appointment or with the pregnancy, glad DH will be with me though as I think he needs this more than I do LOL

Take care all and will post back reports later xx

    Hi CAFCGirl,

    Thanks for your post.

Yes, I think the 12 weeks is a massive milestone. Maybe that is why i am feeling a bit emotional today. I was so worried about things going wrong, i'm always pesimistic (?sp), so am pleased to get to 12 weeks.

Thanks for the info re veg. May give the stews a try and see how i get on.

Good luck with the booking in appt. Great to have DH there with you as they will be asked questions re family history too. Also, it goes without saying the support is brilliant.

Let us know how you get on.

i am so hoping the sickness passes soon as it is really getting to me. i have felt constantly sick (moving from morning to through the day to night), so i hope it doesn't carry on for too much longer, although i know it can.

quite teary today for some reason. hubby works nights so feel quite lonely at night, and i think that carries through to the morning. hopefully i will feel better when i speak to him (either that or will burst into tears when i do speak to him).

hope everyone else is feeling well and welcome to the newbies.

Awwwwwww, hugs to you hun. And thanks for the welcome :j

I'm only 4+4 so just sat here wondering when the dreaded sickness is going to kick in...

What scans are you meant to get on the NHS? I just got the letter from my midwife, and the "about your scans" leaflet said that you only get one scan at 10-14 weeks (mine's at week 15 :-( ... ), unless something's wrong/complicated... but all of you seem to talk about the early scan and the 20 week scan...?

Also, I only have my booking in apt. at 16 weeks-- seems a bit late, but maybe they're busy in my area? Or maybe they think we're low-risk since we were actually trying, I was taking folic acid already and have never smoked, etc...? (and the doc did do the height, weight, blood pressure, etc thing when I first went in to confirm the pregnancy...)
    Steph

I'm also in edinburgh and we only get one NHS scan around the 14-16 week mark. They just do things slightly differently, though they are talking of introducing a 20-22week scan for everyone sometime next year.

If you are concerned talk to your MW, otherwise there are companies in Edinburgh who do private scans (for a cost) should you want to know the gender etc.

Feel free to PM me if you want to swap stories/information x

    Hi Kathy,

Mine kicked in not too much longer after where you are now I think, maybe around the 5-6 week mark.

As much as I dont like the feeling, it does give me comfort to know that all must be progressing well.

Fingers crossed for our first chance to see bubs on Tuesday. Hope s/he will be pleased we are having a sneak peek.

i had a chat with my doc over the phone when we got our positive result (he knew i was trying).

i had to pop into the surgery to make an appointment with the midwife for when i was around 8 weeks (which i was to the day by the midwife's calculation).

the appointment hubby and i had with her lasted over an hour, going through medical history, where i can have the baby, diet, scans, tests, bloods taken etc. she then sends all my notes to the local hospital and my scan appointments came directly from them. i know it is different depending on which area of the country you are in.

i know the feeling of it being 'your little secret', but we told our families aroudn 7 weeks and i am now starting to tell some work colleagues. just me, i cant' keep my big mouth shut :D

We are planning to tell hubbies mum and dad on his birthday which is at the end of next month when I will be almost 9 weeks. We are planning on inviting them down for a meal and ss I am a bit of a wine drinker I was hoping to keep up some kind of pretence at the start of the evening by drinking some alcohol free wine.

Can anyone therefore recommend some alcohol free wine that tastes reasonably 'like' wine iykwim?????!!!!!!

    Cheers me dears
