Congrats Saver Raver, hope you both doing well xx:j
  • I am 6 weeks 6 days and doubt i will get to 12 weeks without telling almost everyone. I too had a miscarriage at 10 weeks earlier in the year. However i am forced to tell my work next week as I have a midwife appointment at 9 weeks. Then I feel bad about telling my boss before i tell my family.

However i am forced to tell my work next week as I have a midwife appointment at 9 weeks. Then I feel bad about telling my boss before i tell my family.

I told everyone by 7wk too, similar reasons. I had to tell work, I was so rough those early weeks and I kept palming it off as feeling poorly/run down, but as I work in a chemist they were all trying to force pills into me.....Also couldn't stand to make the tea or coffee (nor drink it) so ended up telling them. Anyway then I was worried in ase they slipped up to my boys, so had to tell them...then felt guilty our parents not knowing. Anyway by the end of wk7 everyone close to us pretty much knew.

I will be telling mums at the school when th boys go back and I will be 13wks then so no problem with that.

I had originally planned to keep it a secret from everyone until 12wks as I have had 2 mc 7wks and 9wks.

Has anyone, on their shopping travels, seen a nice maternity coat, or coat suitable for maternity?

My last two were born May and October so i've not been pregnant over winter before.

I'm going to Eurodisney at October half term. I went the same time last year and it was bl00dy freezing!! I predict i'm going to be quite huge by then.

As for superstitios (sp?) mums - mine bought my last two prams for me, but insisted they stayed in her spare room til i'd arrived home with baby!

i pretty much relied on my trusty fleece coat right up till 9 1/2 months pregnant last time, it stretched with me as it had an elasticated hem that sat just under my bump, it was however nearly bursting at the seams come the end but it did the job and was still perfectly wearable afterwards. im going to just use the coats i have this time around (due april 1st) if i have to wear them open down the front then so be it, i`ll just put extra jumpers on and be sure to take a brolly out with me :D
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance! :p

ok girlies.... ive got a question

I signed up to the Boots pregnancy club thingy, registered my advantage card etc.
Now it said in 4 weeks it will be sending me a free change bag, if i buy pampers new born/some other nappy, cant remember the name...

Now does this work by i go into boots and buy them, use my advantage card and then in the post my change bag arrives??? Or do I need to do something else?

    In terms of telling people.

I told my work team when I was 7 weeks. I have a very close knit team in my shop and theyve been fab with supporting me with my morning sickness etc.
Also told my line manager in confidence but have since found out she has told my directors, when I asked her not to, but thats a completely different kettle of fish!

We've also told our parents by week 7, and a few close friends also know but I would say 10 people max know at the moment. Will put out a family announcement after our first scan. But I was happy to tell those close to me, and our parents sooner, esp as its our first, and my parents first grandchild, so I wanted them involved early on.
Plus if something dreadful does happen, then I'll have a really good support network set up to help us.
