I am 24 with a 4 year old, but probably look about 20, as when I tell people I have a child they look at me in shock and say, oh you look too young!
Personally I couldnt give a fig what other people think, I had My son youngish, but I work and am not a chav, if people wish to turn their nose up then thats their parogotive.

    Thanks.
think I'll have to develop a thicker skin :rotfl:

I know how you girls feel, I was comforting my oldest son once after he had tripped over on the way to the park, a lady asked if my 'brother' was OK....

I am 27 and I had both my boys with me at the time, oldest is 7 and youngest is 5 although my 7yr is up to my shoulders as I am only 5.2 and he takes after his dad who is 6.2.....I really didn't think about him looking like my brother, but when I mentioned it to people I know they did say that because I am short and look a bit younger than my age, and he is so tall, that if they didn't know me they could quite easily assume the same thing!!!!

I do sometimes feel like I have to justify why am I on my third baby, even though I was a department manager for a very large retailer before I had any children and am now studying towards becoming a teacher, whilst looking after my children.....I find people very judgemental/rude!

Your completely right AM - isn't it amaxing though how others are so judgemental when your pregnant?

Already everyone is bombarding me with what I consider inappropriate questions......
    was it planned?
is it a boy or girl?
    will I breastfeed? etc

Now I don't mind discussing issues with close friends or family, but complete or thereabouts strangers are just rude!!!!:p
Dont worry bout it love, you cant be any worse than me, single muvva with a 4 year old, and one on the way
I split up from ym partner 3 weeks ago and just found out I'm having his baby  :rotfl:

Made me think of something actually, when I was pregnant wit DS I used to go to town alot with my cousin (her baby is 7 months older than DS) and when I started getting bigger i used to push her buggy round to virtually hold me up, and my god you should of seen some of the looks I used to get from people :rotfl:

Then there was the 'oh I thought you were the nanny' coz my son is white with blue eyes and platinum blonde hair and I'm mixed race (white mum, black dad) even now people are amazed that he's mine, now when I have this next baby there is a chance it could come out darkish (although it's dad is fair with green eyes and freckles) so how chavtasic will that look, 2 different colour kids :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My skin isn't that thick, I am over paranoid about what other people think of me, but that is one thing that doesn't really bother me, maybe it's becuae the average age of a mother round here is about 13

Haha You ladies all have it better than me, People will say - have said Im stupid!
I was 17 when I had my son, now 22 and just found out expecting number 2!
The things I had said to me when I was having DS were awful. And teenage mothers have such a bad name attached to them. Lol I think Im over it now but It annoys me how people think they can judge you when they dont know you. I was treated very badly by my midwife when I was pregnant - she told me it was because there were much more deserving people who should be having kids Not silly young girls who cant keep there knickers on!
Be it right or be it wrong me and OH (who is a bit older than me at 25) made a mistake - we were legal to have sex!!!
The thing is we own our own home, OH is an IT consultant and I run my own business and do what I can to provide the extras that make life nice, so its not like we are spongers! Unlike the 30 odd year old woman next door who has three kids under 4 lives rent free and claims anything she can get her hands on! Oh yeah she also has her partner living there and doesnt let on and he works full time!
Anyway Rant over it just gets to me that people think as Im a young parent I must be no good! :o

I notice you are from Cheshire too....we seem to have a lot like that in the town I live in!!!! My ex-friend being one of them, living on benefits, in free council house, whilst partner who runs his own very successful business lives there on the sly.

Afternoon all! Just dropping by.. nice to see everyone is well :)

I have a quick question, and I hope I don't upset anyone with it but I think it might have come up before and you are the ladies to ask..

My Tesco Baby Club voucher pack came through the post this morning. In the spirit of MS and also boosting my Clubcard points total, I'm thinking of going to Tesco to purchase all the bits that I can get extra points on (mostly nappies and wipes) and claim the Huggies basket, then I can stash them away for when they are needed (I'm thinking a year from now, maybe!). Does anyone know, will they let me join the club again with a new due date later this year/early next and reissue the vouchers so I get more points? Cheeky, I know, but MS nonetheless! :D

Hi elle gee, I recently received some which were for a 3 to 6 month old baby and realised I hadn't changed my details since my m/c. All the vouchers were for weaning and "active" nappies and I saw the huggies basket in store and noted down the phone no. There was a lovely lady at the other end and I explained about the m/c and asked if I could update my details and she did it quite happily! As I only work part time, we were going to start stocking up before my money drops but my mum however is being majorly superstitous (sp??), going on about the cord round the neck and stillbirths and freaked me out totally! Good job she doesn't read how early some of you go buying prams etc, the older generation eh?! Its only a few bit we need as we've still got pram, cot etc from DD but she hasn't gone on about them being in the house and bad omens (my nan frowned on us having them indoors until the baby arrived last time!)?!

Glad to hear you're thinking positively for the future but whether you decide to make use of them now or not, I'm sure they'll issue new vouchers nearer the time.

Congrats to all newbies and new arrivals, its amazing how quickly things change on here! Hope everyone is well, ps hows the hormones holding out, anyone else find themselves blubbing at the sob stories on X factor or am I the only saddo:confused: lol! PPS all you under thirty somethings are making me feel old :rotfl: I take my wedding ring off at night cos of pins and needles and freak out if I go out the next day without it in case people look at me as an "unmarried woman" so I know where you are coming from mentioning hubbies with every sentance! Sorry, yet another long post from me x
