Thanks to everyone for all the good advice I have already picked up on this thread!

I am now 35 weeks and starting to get a bit stressed about getting things ready for the new arrival!

Do anyone have any advice on types of mattress to buy for Moses basket and pram? We got a little-used Moses basket from a friend. It has a 2 cm thick foam mattress with a plastic cover. I guess that is not the best quality for the little one but will it be good enough for the short time that baby will fit in the basket or should we get a new thicker one? We have a cot and new mattress ready for a bit later.

    Stay well everyone!
    :-)

My sister has given me her moses basket-but kindly brought us anew mattress :o ive heard you should get a new one for each baby?

Its recommended you buy a new one for each baby. They cost around the £10 mark.

I'm getting a green mattress from www.naturalhome-products.co.uk. My husband has asthma so we want something hypoallergenic. I'm going for one with natural coconut fibres in the middle, surrounded by latex and cotton. They are more expensive, but we're trying to be as green as possible. I've heard that thicker ones are more comfy. Kiddicare has a range of mattressess, have you had a look on their website? xx

    hi all,

just wondering what people's thoughts are on materinty bras and when you should start wearing them (not the nursing ones).

i am, shall we say, well blessed in that department, probably an E cup. i of course want to look after my boobs while i am pregnant so have been looking at the M & S maternity bras. They all seem to be non wired ones. I know I have read somewhere about the wires affecting breast tissue, but i am now not sure what to do.

i want the support (obviously) and this is why i like wired bras, but can i have this option when looking at maternity bras. the M & S ones are cotton which i know breathes better.

    would love your thoughts/advice/experiences/suggestions.

    thanks
    xxx

I have been wearing shock absorber sports bras (with underwire and flexi foam) as I seem to have grown to an enourmous F cup  and am only 20 weeks. It has a 2 seperate fastners at the back which I find really help support me, although i do have to get OH to do it up if I have back ache, lol!
A friend recommended Bravissimo to me tho so i'll be trying them when i grow out of these. :T

    Morning Ladies.

Hope everyone is well, Just been back reading through this thread and finding it all very helpful.

I honestly cant believe how pregnant I feel and its so early on, (only found out this week) I have been up since about 4am. Was soundly sleeping and woke with the urge to throw up everywhere Sorry if its a bit early and TMI hehe! Im really struggling with the nausea at the moment, the only thing that seems to make to go away is polos and yesterday I went through four tubes, which cant be good for me!? The thing is I have this phobia of being sick, please dont laugh:o I can see how silly it sounds but instead of rushing to the toilet and letting myself get it up I tend to breathe through it if you know what I mean until it passes, but it comes back within ten minutes. I have it in my head that if I just throw up Ill feel better but I cant let myself do it and its just horrible. Sorry for moaning I know some of you ladies have it tens times worse than me at the moment.... OH is being brilliant but Im worried hes going to get bored of it all before too long hehe. I think im being very hormonal over everything and i just cant help it, I couldnt find my mobile on Friday and after only about 3 minutes of not being able to find it I was almost in tears... But to be honest it had been a very trying day. We had taken DS and his best friend out to a theme park they are both 5 and with not seeing each other for the whole of the summer holidays they were a bit hypo together and its always harder when your looking after someone elses! - Thats my excuse and Im sticking to it anyway :rotfl:

Thanks for reading / listening, its really nice to know there are people in the same position who will understand what Im saying, Ill probably find the whole thing easier when I have told everyone...

    Hugs to you all

    Hi Sparkle,

Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough. Polos definitely do help. Are you ok with liquid? When I first got it and felt really really bad, I was sipping at cup a soups to try and get something more "food" like in coz I found liquids didnt make me feel that bad.
It does pass and you have good days and bad days, yesterday I ate like a trooper, but the day before i was being really picky.
    How far gone are you?
P.S I know how you feel about being sick.... im exactly the same, will do everything i can to avoid physically allowing it to happen, which 9 times out of 10 makes it worse...

I told her Vitamin A was a no no.Does the pregnacare not have enough folic acid in for you just to take that?:confused:

I've had really bad morningsickness all the way through so far, although it's trailed off a bit now. I couldn't stomache the pregnacare on bad days so took just the folic acid as they were very small and easier on the stomach - i figured at least I was getting a little bit of goodness as often as possible, but there was about 10 days where I couldn't take either

Hope your DD is feeling a bit brighter :D

just been reading about the maternity bra dilemmas - I'm a 30 F normally and still am at 18 wks!!! No growth in that region at all. I'm not unhappy about it I have to confess. It's hard enough finding nice bras as it is :D

I'm gong to continue with uderwire until I feel uncomfortable. In bed I normally wear camisole style tops with a 'bra shelf' and they are fine at the moment too.
